This new hotel was more than we hoped for. Our first 2 nights in Europe were spent here and it was extremely comfortable in every respect: The desk clerk was friendly and helpful, the room was clean and comfortable. The location is convenient to the bus, which makes it very easy to get downtown if you don't want to make the 15 minute walk. When a rowdy group came in at 1 a.m. yelling, singing, and dancing on the next balcony, a call to the desk brought a quick response.

Hotel rooms and facilities arevery nice, but there is no way possible that the hotel is 1km from the beach.. It is a 10 min bus ride to the beach and 15 mins into town. Great if your there for buisenss but not if your on a beach holiday..

The Hesperia Donosti is a lovely comfortable hotel located in the residential area of San Sebastian. It is very new building so the hotel and rooms were spotlessly clean and very well decorated. The rooms were a reasonable size and the bathrooms immaculate. The only drawback is the location. It is a good 45 minute walk to the centre of San Sebastian and 30 minutes to Onderetta Beach. There is an excellent bus service outside the door which runs approx. every 10 minutes to all the important locations which makes the travelling very easy. The hotel is located on a busy road but we never heard any noise at night, which was a big plus.
