If you are staying in Erlangen during a hot period, beware that this hotel has no air conditioning and the fans only work if you put your room card in the power slot. This was done in a hotel that received a lot of direct sunlight, especially the NW facing rooms on the higher floors.

The front desk took the complaint and put an extra card in the power slot to keep the fan running all the time, but it was a hopeless effort.

The restaurant is very weak and has very limited service, if you get it.

Stay at the Novotel down the street.

NH is a clean and very business like hotel. It is no frill and very basic when compared to most of the buiness hotels in Asia. Well, as there aren't many business hotels, NH is the best one around the region. (I have been traveling to this region for more than 10 times in the past one year)

This is the best hotel in Erlangan, clean, modern, lovely rooms that are well equipped and good food and location. Staff were friendly and efficient, highly recommend.

My husband & I stayed at the NH Hotel in Erlangen just outside of Nuremburg and had a great time! The room was very contemporary and very good sized for a German hotel compared to others we have stayed in in the past. The front desk and staff are extremely friendly and accomodating. The bathrooms had all the amenities and they even leave chocolates on your pillows when they clean the rooms. One thing to know- although I did not use the facilities- if working out is important to you, their "workout facilities" consist of a tiny room the size of a closet with one stairmaster and one exercise bike machine so do not stay here if you are looking for a place with a nice gym. Also, the sauna has a 4 headed shower you can use when you get out which is AWESOME, but it is co-ed, so definitely not for the shy types! :-) The location of the hotel is perfect! It is within walking distance to everything, although if you have a lot of bags and are coming from the train station, you will probably need to get a taxi for a short ride because it is a 10-15 min walk. With the multiple suitcases we had, there was no way we could have made it to the hotel, but if we had a backpack and a small travel bag, it could have been done. I would definitely stay in this hotel when we go to Erlangen again! 5 stars!
