Everything was fine at the hotel. Good room, nice lobby, etc. Only things were that the duvets were really narrow for us and we are definitely not big by any means. Also, I had torn my knee ligament but decided not to cancel the trip since everything was paid for and asked in advance to have ice. It got a bit confusing because on email, the person said they would discuss the charges with me for the ice when I arrived at the hotel. I thought..huh..charge for frozen water? At the end, the nice man at reception laughed at whoever wrote the email and said of course ice is free. It even came in a nice machine sealed back which I guess they pack meat in the kitchen. That was great. Aircon was a bit off though. We would freeze at 21 but feel like we were in Hawaii at 22.

We stayed here in the winter and not during a conference, but still the price was incredibly low for a Novotel. This is a stylish hotel. The room was spacious and clean, and having a kettle was very handy. It's only a short walk to the large Ettlinger Tor shopping centre, and the city centre. I do however think the internet was far too expensive: it's something accor needs to think about, since so many hotels these days have free wi-fi.

Being 1.84m tall, I found the duvet too thick and to small. When I moved in sleep cold air rushed in and woke me up. If I did not move in sleep I woke up too hot with the air con set at minimum 18°C. For leisure purposes, this does not matter as I can sleep longer to compensate but for business this is not acceptable. On business I would need a sheet to prevent too much cold air waking me up.

Nice Hotel. Service is friendly - especially in the restaurant.
Tendency to long and slow queues at check-out. Fitness Center is OK - machines are a bit tired and could be repaired. Look like they have been out of action for awhile.
Can't generally complain about the rooms and quality, though Air-con is a bit noisy and I don't like the big pillows - but that's just me. Would definitely stay here again though.
