We stayed here with our family for 5 days at New Year. We had an excellent stay with friendly, and endearing service and all the staff could not have been more charming or helpful. Perfect location just off the main high street so easy to walk to restaurants in the evening, and only 2 minutes wallk to the pistes. Rooms were clean and cosy, and the breakfast room & sitting room were very attractive. For position, price and people it is a brilliant 2* for a family ski holiday.

My 2 friends and myself enjoyed our stay in Val d'Isere thoroughly. My first, but my friends stay here, and the staff remembered them and welcomed them back. Staff are so friendly, hotel was very clean, extremely convienent for everything, being in the centre of the village, but just 3-4 mins to the slopes, restaurants, bars, ski shops. Overall, a very enjoyable experience, and highly recommend!!! Will come back! Slán.

Hotel Le Kern is a real gem in one of Europe's best skiing villages. The hotel sits in the centre of the village surrounded by the best shops and restaurants, and only minutes from the ski lifts. The hotel has its own boot room to leave your skis at the end of the day and the level of service was excellent. My wife was unable to ski for part of the week and the hotel's lounge was extremely useful to sit, read and relax. The breakfast was lovely and sourced from the local area and the rooms, although a little small were clean and tidy. If you are looking for a small hotel with friendly staff you can't go wrong. Will certainly visit again.

I stayed at Le Kern by myself for one full week in mid-March 2011. I was in Val d'Isere to do some serious skiing. I could not have found a place to stay that was better suited to my purpose. This small hotel is located right in the center of the village, just a few steps away from the lifts, the outdoor ice skating rink, the best restaurants and shops, the public swimming pool/gym and so on. I had no need for a car, nor for the free buses that run throughout Val d'Isere. The staff at Le Kern, particularly Pascale and Dani, were just as warm, gracious, friendly and helpful as you could possibly hope for! Le Kern is not the place to go if your intend to impress your girlfriend or if you demand luxurious accommodations; however, if you are looking for a friendly, cozy place with an excellent location as a base for your skiing vacation, I highly recommend Le Kern.
