La Seizena is about 5 years old but still looks and feels brand new. The decor is very stylish and fashionable, with wood, brushed aluminum and wool features. The photos on the hotel's website are accurate, an uncommon feature. The hotel has only 20 rooms, including family rooms (more on this later). It is located directly across the street from the Courchevel 1650 gondola and is within a block or so of 5+ restaurants, 4 ski shops and 2 grocery stores.
The staff without exception is friendly, helpful and courteous. I was typically addressed by name and was often asked if further services could be offered.
The common areas are smallish, particularly the ski storage room, but the individual rooms are larger than normal, particularly for a ski resort. Noise from the street may be a problem for light sleepers, if they like the window cracked.
The hotel is very family friendly. It has several family rooms that sleep four, and it offers reduced rates for children 4 - 12, while children under 4 are free. This is great for families, not so great for the rest of us. During our stay, a large multi-generational family monopolized the common areas (lobby, exercise room, sauna, restaurant, hallways). Not what I expected in a boutique hotel ...
Breakfast (included) is good, not great. The selection of breads is meagre for a French hotel. While the made-to-order omelets were very good, not everyone likes eggs at breakfast.
Parking is at a reduced rate (10 euro/day) in a nearby indoor, public garage.
Suggestions for management:
1. Clocks for the rooms, at least available on request.
2. Public internet access. While free wifi is nice, not everyone travels with a laptop.
3. Enlarge the ski storage area. Only 1 - 2 people can sit at a time, and the boot rack does not have enough room if the hotel is fully booked with skiers.
