“Expensive - but a good stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 March 2010

We stayed at Le Seizena for 3 nights in March. Our stay there didnt get off to a start, we checked in at 10.30pm. Nipped out for a quick bite to eat - on our return the keys wouldnt work thus us not been avaible to access our room. After 30 min wait (tired from travelling all day) we were told the Manager was 20 minutes away and he would sort the problem. After another 30 mins - we were given the master "key fob" and we were allowed into our rooms - but werent allowed to keep the key! After this minor hic-cup - the rest of our stay was enjoyable! Breakfast excellent - fresh fruit/cerals/chees & hams. Also freshly cooked eggs (omlettes/poached etc) All in all a good stay - but we didnt need the stress of the exprience of the 1st night...

“wonderful b+b,lovely staff,great location.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 March 2010

Having used Trip Advisor for research we were quite happy with our choice. We picked the b+b first then went with Neilsons for the package to ensure transfere etc. The first impression was wonderful and it stayed the same for the duration of the holiday. The room was clean, modern with a fab view of the mountains. The bed was very comfy and the only complaint as such would be that there was no bath and the shower was very small, too small to really shower in. Other than that we were really pleased with the service we had. Buffett breakfast was the usual pastries, bread, cereal and choice of eggs. The resort of 1650 has plenty of great place to eat so we didn't eat at the hotel in the evenings although the menu looked great. For skiing, the location is great, just cross the road for the gondola(bubble) to take you to the slopes. If you have never tried Corcheval for skiing we would recommend it for all levels. Beware though,it's an expensive resort!!!

“splendid hotel at the base of courchevel 1650”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 February 2010

La Seizena is about 5 years old but still looks and feels brand new. The decor is very stylish and fashionable, with wood, brushed aluminum and wool features. The photos on the hotel's website are accurate, an uncommon feature. The hotel has only 20 rooms, including family rooms (more on this later). It is located directly across the street from the Courchevel 1650 gondola and is within a block or so of 5+ restaurants, 4 ski shops and 2 grocery stores.

The staff without exception is friendly, helpful and courteous. I was typically addressed by name and was often asked if further services could be offered.

The common areas are smallish, particularly the ski storage room, but the individual rooms are larger than normal, particularly for a ski resort. Noise from the street may be a problem for light sleepers, if they like the window cracked.

The hotel is very family friendly. It has several family rooms that sleep four, and it offers reduced rates for children 4 - 12, while children under 4 are free. This is great for families, not so great for the rest of us. During our stay, a large multi-generational family monopolized the common areas (lobby, exercise room, sauna, restaurant, hallways). Not what I expected in a boutique hotel ...

Breakfast (included) is good, not great. The selection of breads is meagre for a French hotel. While the made-to-order omelets were very good, not everyone likes eggs at breakfast.

Parking is at a reduced rate (10 euro/day) in a nearby indoor, public garage.

Suggestions for management:
1. Clocks for the rooms, at least available on request.
2. Public internet access. While free wifi is nice, not everyone travels with a laptop.
3. Enlarge the ski storage area. Only 1 - 2 people can sit at a time, and the boot rack does not have enough room if the hotel is fully booked with skiers.

“Stylish/comfy boutique hotel ideal for couples”

I used this hotel to bring my partner skiing for the first time; it was everything it was promised to be. A room with a view looking down the valley with the lights of Courchevel 1550 twinkling in the night. Everything was in its vicinity and 1650 has a great balance between stylish and authentic cuisine.

On the same street, you will find a place for coffee, crepe, fresh cakes, lunch packs and plenty of ski shops. Restaurants are mostly savoyard style but all fed us well. Hotel Seizena is very convenient as a B&B that will allow you to sample the local dishes. It does have a restaurant, tasty with very small portions.

Skiing is simply over the road and up the escalator. My partner enjoyed the nursery slopes as the wide, well groomed runs were a delight. It is also a quieter and spacious part of Le Trois Vallee.

Hotel Seizena is a stylish hotel at accessible prices.

“Great place to stay in Courchevel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 June 2009

After staying in 1850 a couple of years ago, we decided to give 1650 a try this year as we found 1850 not only ridiculously expensive but also the town felt like it lacked a 'heart' - everything was behind closed doors although I have to say the restaurants were fantastic and ski-ing great, hence the reason we wanted to return to the area.
When we initially arrived at 1650 in the daylight, I was a little disappointed with the town and lack of 'nice' shops and restaurants that we have got used to in Val d'isere and 1850. However, my views quickly changed and I would now stay in 1650 time and time again.

We did not really know what to expect when we arrived at Le Seizena as it was a three star hotel. However, when we arrived we were greeted by a very friendly member of staff who took us upstairs and showed us a choice of rooms that were available to us. He also had our luggage delivered to the room and could not have been more helpful. In fact all the staff we met were exceptionally helpful throughout our stay. The rooms were fantastic (much larger than we are used to in alot of ski-resorts) with very nice extra touches such as: a balcony with mountain views - fantastic to watch the sun go down; mini-fridge; nice mohair throws; fresh bed linen daily; lovely toiletries and nice bathroom with window overlooking the mountain. The hotel did have a steam rm but we did not use these facilities. The boot room is small but perfectly placed outside with the best drying facilities we have come across so your boots are lovely and dry each morning. The restaurant is very nice indeed (gastro type food so you will want all courses!) and the hotels location is excellent. Not only is it next door to a great bar for apres ski but you simply walk across the road, up the elevator and you are on the slopes - could not be better.

We loved 1650 and the ski-ing over that side of the mountain was a delight. Much less crouded, better snow conditions and very good lift service that takes you up and over to 1850 very quickly. It is also really easy to get a bus to 1850 for a meal of an evening if you wish as the bus stop is directly outside the hotel and service is frequent. Restaurants are very much typical authentic local restaurants in 1650 (with the exception of Le Seizena which servies great food from around the world) serving pizza's, pasta, steaks and no surprise - raqulette/fondues where you can overload on cheese! Nevertheless, they are very reasonable all things considering.

Only downside, the internet access in the hotel is non-existent so if you need to do work while away then you will struggle and make sure you are down early for breakfast as alot of the stuff runs out quickly. The other thing that seemed a bit mad is that the hotel bar and restaurant are not open on a Sunday - just seemed a bit strange for a hotel to not offer any facilities to get drinks or food.

All in all, a great holiday and we will definitely be returning to the resort and this hotel.
