“Excellent budget choice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 August 2007

I stayed here with a large group of skiers.

We were looking for simple, reasonably priced, well located premises, the half board was a bonus.

We were'nt expecting much (for the price), we were however pleasantly suprised by the hotel (more of a large converted house) and really impressed with the quality of the food, which was genuine freshly prepared french cuisine.

The location was ideal, a short walk from the ski buses & opposite the most helpful ski hire shop I've ever encountered.

The rooms were all clean, en-suite, warm and for the most part spacious. Probably best avoid room 1(01) which is on the ground floor near the front door, if you like your sleep unbroken, are not a couple, or like to swing cats.

There are a few parking spaces to the front of the hotel, ideal if you like to drive to the resort.

All in all totally fit for purpose.

p.s. I especially enjoyed the lengthy chats with the owner/chef each evening about our days skiing - at least I assume that was the subject, as she only spoke french and we spoke none!

“Good Budget Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 February 2007

We booked this hotel for a group (mainly blokes) ski trip. We were slightly wary of booking a 2 star hotel but just needed a centrally located base that was well priced and clean.

Hotel du Clocher provided exactly that and we were looked after well by Katia and her team. The hotel is really more akin to a family run guest house than a hotel.

We stayed for 4 nights on a half board basis. The brekky was simple i.e. bread, jam, coffee etc but completely adequate. The evening meal was three courses and excellent local french cuisine. All for a measly 53 euros per night!!!

Ideal for groups or budget traveller.
