“nice and quiet hotel in the heart of Chamonix”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 September 2010

The hotel is very nice and cosy. The rooms are located on three floors: we were on the third (the highest), where we occupied two of the three rooms available. The triple room where the kids slept is adequate in size and the bathroom more than adequate; the room looks on the back of the hotel. Our room (a double) was much small, the bathroom still more, but on the whole it was well appointed with a lot of shelves and cupboards cleverly arranged. Stairs to the third stage are very steep, but still manageable.
Nice breakfast room in the basement, but the breakfast is quite basic: orange juice of average quality, good bakery, no fresh butter or jam.

“Very nice hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 July 2010

We had to stay in Chamonix one day and this was the first hotel we found near the underground parking. But decided to check prices and quality also in other hotels and had to return back quite fast. We understood that this is a good choice, as the hotel owner offered also a free parking almoust in the heart of the town. We got a room on top floor, where ceilings are low, but otherwise it was exactly what we expected from this type of hotel. The benefit of this hotel is the loacation, as in few minutes you reach the center with best restourants in the town.

“the owner screams”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 July 2009

We have stayed only one night in this hotel. Nothing special, good price.
I want just to share my experience with the travellers concerning one special subject which happed to us in this hotel. Our requirement was to have a parking place near hotel, so we have chose this hotel which declares of having a parking. Before coming we wrote an e-mail asking if we do need to make a reservation and got a reply that it is not necessary. When we came the parking in front of the hotel was full. When I asked the person who said he is the owner of the hotel what he could suggest to us, because we were blocking the narrow street and our car is not the small city car, he started screaming on me. And this is the right word - screaming! - about that everyone comes with the car and they have limit of places, etc. Afterwards when I asked him stop screaming he calmed down a bit and showed the covered parking which is just on corner next to the hotel and promised to pay for it. And this was done. The only thing I do not understand till now - what was the point about screaming on me? It is pretty understandable that the parking you possess is very small, so indicate it or admit only cars with the reservation, at last you could inform people about other options, but screaming... I do have nothing against the hotel itself-simple, clean, basic, but I could not recommend it to my friends, it is not a place for normal service.

“Shocking!!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 July 2009

I will tell you the pros first. Location was great and the room was warm.
Now for the cons
1. The noise was ridiculous. We stayed on the groud floor that had paper as walls. The owners of the hotel would argue and I am glad I am not fluent in french. The ski and boot room (they didnt have a room, you had to leave your struff in the hallway) which is right by our paper thin walls!!! Very noisy!!!!
2. The toilet in our room was sort of a port-a-loo attached to the room. Shocking!!!!!!! This is the last thing you need after a long days skiing
3. Breakfast - all it was was bread and some little tubs of nutella and jam. Where were the croissant?
4. The owner is very rude. We were leaving before breakfast started so we asked if we could not pay for the beakfast to which he replied "tough".
To say we were unhappy would be an under statement. DO NOT STAY IN THE ROOM ON THE GROUND FLOOR ON THE LEFT!!!!!

“Clean, basic, great food and friendly service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 March 2009

A small hotel right in the heart of Chamonix. The walls are paper thin, and the rooms are pretty basic but for the price (relative to other hotels in Chamonix) the value is excellent. It's within easy walking distance of the lifts for the Brevent-Flegere (the Planpraz gondola). We were staying with 'half-board' (demi-pension) and the meals were excellent. Breakfasts were simple with good coffee, breads and spreads. The dinners were served at 1930, 3 courses and delicious. We'd look to stay there again if we return to Chamonix.
