“A Great Hotel with wonderful owners”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 June 2011

Hotel Select is hidden away in Salon De Provence, but it is worth the search. The owners Donald and Letitia made our stay extra special, as they were so friendly and helpful. The hotel was an old building done up in a quaint style, clean and confortable. Donald showed us all the best places to see on a city map and made sure everything was ok everytime we came in. Anything we needed they provided (within reason).
It was a wonderful stay and we would recommend it to anyone.

“Great hosts of average hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 May 2011

Donald and his wife are very helpful. Our room was the triple where the toilet is in a stall in one corner of the room which was odd. The linens are not plush but adequate. There is a nice common balcony and a garden area. The location is a few blocks from the Old City and is quiet. The very best thing is the helpfulness and generosity of the hosts. One couldn't ask for nicer people. The hotel is hard to find- we drove around the same three blocks for half an hour and asked for directions- twice. Other guests had the same problem.

“Lovely hotel - managed with passion and care”

We spent 7 nights at this lovely hotel during the month of August. I had selected it after reading reviews here and can confirm all the positive impressions of the other travellers. The hotel is small and quiet. The room was clean and bed was comfortable. They have a courtyard inside where they serve a lovely breakfast. A terrace is available for smokers at all times on the first floor. The plus was the attention and care the owners put in managing the structure and in dealing with the guests. They really made us feel like being home. Grazie Donald and Laetitia!
Salon is a lovely small town and perfect base for visiting the rest of Provence. I would definitely come back to the same hotel if I were to travel again in the region.

“pour le vrai voyageur - for the real traveller”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 August 2010

a fantastic hotel for exploring Provence, strategically located (very close to the centre of town, good restaurants and the parking). the owners are very friendly and helpful.
the rooms were "old Provence style", that was what we liked more. last but not least, the price is excellent value for money. i recommend it for sure.

“Exceptional staff, great location and value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 June 2010

We selected this hotel in Salon-de-Provence based on its location for touring the small towns of Provence and towns along the coast. The location was excellent plus we were pleasantly surprised to find that Salon- de- Provence had much to offer.

The owners of this charming hotel (a younger couple) were outstanding. Donald was so pleasant and went out of his way to offer directions and suggestions for good restaurants within walking distance, local market information etc. He and his wife always greeted us with a smile and conversation and really made us feel welcome. Our breakfast, which we chose to have at the hotel, was tasty and fresh.

We thought that this small hotel felt more like a bed and breakfast than a typical hotel. The owners live on the premises and they are there if you need them. In the morning, they served our breakfast. The hotel has a cozy, warm feel and is decorated with care.

The rooms (we had two since we traveled with our daughter and son-in-law) were basic but very clean. There is a courtyard downstairs and a second floor balcony with seating which looked inviting. Since the weather was cool during our stay, we didn't opt to use them. The hotel is located on a quiet street but within easy walking distance to restaurants, stores and sights. We did have to park in a private garage for 5 euro per day which was about a five minute walk from the hotel.

Considering the cost of our stay, the value was high. The proximity to the sights of Provence was great. The owners of the hotel couldn't have been nicer.
