The hosts were friendly, helpful and enthusiastic, treating us like friends.

The room was plain, but not poky, at the top-end of the no-frills spectrum, perfectly clean and comfortable, and the double glazing shut out the street noise. The shower worked well and the wifi worked perfectly.

Breakfast was excellent, best we've had in France over quite a number of trips. There is no parking at the hotel, but they have an arrangement whereby you can park in a local underground car park for a very reasonable rate.

We stumbled across L'Herbier a number of years ago now, and now make a point of stopping off in Orange each year as we head to Catalonia. L'Herbier is set at the centre of everything you need for a very pleasant evening in a French town, with lovely local restaurants and just enough going on not to be sleepy, but not so much that you are disturbed. The hotel is always spotless and the proprietors very welcoming. I travel with 4 children now aged from 3 to 18 and each and every one of us is made to feel very welcome. Nearby is the Roman theatre - the only one left so intact in Europe - don't miss it, as well as the Arc de Triomphe erected by Julius Caeser.

Natalie and Jean Luc were very gracious hosts. Our room was plain but comfortable and super clean. The breakfast room was lovely and Jean Luc made wonderful warm crepes to order. Their renovations brought out the best in the building's old architecture. The location was convenient to all of the best in Orange, especially the Thursday market and the Roman theatre.

I would recommend this for an overnight stay in Orange. Our room was very sparse but clean. The proprietors are very accomodating. The petitie dejeuner buffet is very good for 6 Euro with adequate seating inside or outside. It is very close to the ancient Roman theater. Wi-fi works well in the lobby.
