My wife and I travelled with our 3 children, (10, 8 and 2 years old) and stayed in a 6 person apartment overlooking the sea on the fifth floor. We stayed for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our time in the Excellior. From the moment we arrived, the staff were very friendly and helpful. We were impressed by the size of the apartment, with plenty of cupboard space. Bathrooms were clean as was the kitchen. Fantastic view!! Peaceful atmosphere. Comfortable beds (the children enjoyed the roll out beds in the living area). I'm sure we could have found things to pick on if we wanted to be really critical, but we came with the philosophy that the apartment was not the core of our vacation. It was a place to sleep, and then we were out all day everyday. The breakfast stared at 7am each morning and was enjoyable, with enough variety to keep the family happy, having fresh croissants, ham, cheese, yoghurt, cereals, sausages, baked beans and bacon. Really heavenly hot chocolate and coffee from a coffee machine. There is a small Carrefour store 100m down the road with a boulangerie next to it. Very close to public transport across the road. When we were leaving (by 6 in the morning!), the very nice man at reception went and warmed some chocolate croissants for us to take in the car. If and when we come back to Nice, we'll most likely return here.

I stayed in this hotel with a friend for 4 days, we had a city view (meaning noisy freeway view) at the start. I could not tolerate the amount of noise at night from the freeway especially the constant sirens of ambulances & police that we decided to pay more and have an upgrade to a larger 1 bedroom with water views - this made a big difference and same with the price - not worth the extra payment.

The bathroom was reasonably clean, however the service received from the staff of an older woman and older man was extremely rude and arrogant who are liars and have too much attitude except for two of the younger woman who I found very helpful that work at the front desk.

The hotel is positioned across from the beach but I recommend not walking from the train station to hotel - it would take a few hours to get there if you dont know where you are going.

The location is quite far from most of the attractions and I feel as though the prices were more than what its worth.

OK! Upon arrival at the suites we were informed that our reservation had been made for one month later (October instead of Sep...oops my bad) The management of the hotel and reservation staff could not be more helpful. We had made the reservation through an online booking service and not directly with the hotel yet they went above and beyond with assisting us and also writing to the agency we had booked with to arrange for a refund for the prepayed accommodation we had made for October which we got in full! The view is absolutely amazing from the ocean facing suites and the ammenities are great! The manager of the hotel at the time of booking in was very understanding of our situation (travelling with twin 8 month old babies) and more than helpful! We cannot wait to return to Nice and stay again at this hotel!

We booked this hotel based on the name Quality/Choice Hotels and assumed that they would be upto the standards but were gravely disappointed. The kitchen, bathroom and toilet floor was dirty and were not cleaned throughout our 3 day stay. The dishes, spoons and glasses in the kitchen and the tea kettle were filthy with left over food deposits (enough mineral deposits in the tea kettle for you to paint a room white). The assistant manager/duty manager was extremely rude and arrogant. His attitude gave me the impression that they were doing us a favor by allowing us to stay at their hotel. We were to stay longer but decided to leave earlier as we could not possibly take it any longer. When I wrote/complained about the cleanliness and behavior I was arrogantly told that I do not know what cleanliness is. I would rate it is as 1 star hotel and not the 4 star that they claim
