It was the first club holiday we spent at the Belambra chain.
The site needed indeed a renovation, but the renovated rooms are ok.
The entire site, including restaurant and reception desk will be renovated in two phases, last phase ends before summer 2010. We stayed for one week in a renovated room in the block "les îles", close to the central building, but also at walking distance to the beaches, at both sides of the "prequ'île". We were surprised that no swimming pool was available, but we didn't miss it for one minute, having the sound of the ocean when taking your breakfast outside. Rooms have indeed the flat screen TV with DVB-S. We were that close to the central building that we could still use the WIFI-access on our small terras which you pay at the reception desk (€ 15 for 24hrs access, which you can spread during your entire stay). They've put stylish fans in each room, but we think airco should be a standard option for the price we paid. Bathroom (shower) is very small. Separate toilet is a plus.
Even if you pay for hotel service, towels are only replaced on Monday and Thursday, but staff passes by to tidy up your room each day.
A mini fridge and safety deposit box is availaible in the room, which is very usefull in the resort.
There is a lot of staff available to assist in catering/cleaning, but there are long queues for reserving a table outside on dinner rush hours and also when checking in /out at the club.

French language is a must when staying here or having your child to participate at the extended animation teams/club activities.

Breakfast/lunch/dinner are in buffet formula and are fresh and extended. Chef tries to have some variation on the menu each day and you always have extended choice for entry/plat pricipal/desert for children and adults. Soft drinks are expensive, but that's nothing new in the land of wine and vinager.
Overall good given the wonderfull location at walking distance to the ocean and the good food, but a longer stay than seven days might become slightly boring.
