This property was grossly overpriced for what it delivered. the pool had green slime on the walls and disgusting. Food was extremely expensive. suggestions for tours etc poor mis information provided. Better information given out of accomodation in Nice. The whole accomodation is grossly overrated and extremely expensive for what it delivers. Cannot believe it and very disappointed.

We chose this hotel based on its closeness to the Croisette. Although we were not sure, how much the train line, which runs across the street would effect our stay, we were pleasantly surprised that in the rooms it was not an issue. In garden/pool area the noise from the trains was noticeable, but it wouldn't put us off, from visiting again.

We stayed for a week in a garden suite. Both the room and bathroom was comfortable in size. We had a double bed plus an extra bed for our child. The room was cleaned properly, although the sheets/bedding were not changed during our stay and the shower gels and shampoos were not replaced on a regular basis.

Breakfast is served in the garden and is a continental affair. Whilst the food was good, service was hit and miss at times - although not at a level that would cause us any issue.

I wouldn't recommend the lunch/dinner menu at the hotel, it was not very good. The pizza was delivered from a small take away place just down the road from the hotel and wasn't particularly tasty.

All in all, we had a good stay and would be back again, even though the hotel may be a bit on the pricey side in the high season for what it offers.

Hotel has changed ownership and name recently (previously California's Hotel) but remains an excellent hotel.
We had one of the three rooms directly on the garden and pool, a wonderful luxury.
Extremely clean and well-managed, mostly very friendly English-speaking staff, beautiful smallish grounds and pools, small rooms nicely decorated, big bathroom with nice soap and shampoo (no squeeze bottles) and good breakfast served in the garden. A few minutes walk from the east end of the Croisette and a public beach but not much in immediate vicinity.
Small negatives: train tracks quite close and a lot of train traffic but noise not very disturbing, shower in tub with high stepover and phone did not work for 36 hrs (told to use our cell phone instead, a fairly typical kind of response in France). There's a new fence around pool restricting space for chaises longues. Internet free but spotty.

The “La Villa” is a romantic, little family owned Hotel 2 walking minutes from the famous “La Croisette” the sandy notorious beaches of Cannes. The Hotel has approximately 30 rooms, an amazing outside pool which is situated in a small but beautiful garden. The reception is by far the friendliest and most helpful an mutually honest I have ever seen. The woman in the reception was not only giving the best tips where to eat but also was a great facilitator and helper. You directly felt like at home, the atmosphere is very much just like home. My room was a bit small, painted bright, but decorated in mediterranean style. Very clean, comfty and cozy to describe the room in a nutshell. Some little flaws in the bathroom were visible but nothing serious. The room (101) in which I was staying costs 125Euro per night. A relatively good price regarding the fact that you are so close to the sea and also the “croisette” and that you are lodging at one of the French Riviera's most exclusive spots. As I am known to turn every nickel and dime or every Euro, I think that the Hotel might have been a bit too pricy, but in Cannes and on the French Riviera, prices are crazy anyhow. But all in all a very great hotel! Perfect calm family atmosphere, very romantic, very cozy. Regarding the fact that the railways are close by I must say that French trains are by far the most modern and quiet trains in Europe, not really a noise pollution for me altough my room was facing the tracks.
