“Excellent hotel in Arles”

We did battle to find this hotel because the GPS kept wanting for us to go up one ways. I suggest you phone the hotel and they will assist. The will park the car for you once you do arrive. The hotel is on a nice square with some cafes and nearby restaurants.

Our room was large with a view over the swimming pool. The room is well appointed with a big bathroom. Room was clean and serviced daily. All the staff at this hotel were very helpful and friendly. The hotel itself is also lovely with a big breakfast room, swimming pool and a bar.

Hotel is also close to all the sights and ruins. The hotel is a real treat after small, cramped hotel rooms.

“oasis in arles”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 October 2011

This is a family run hotel and it is obvious in the way it is loved and cared for by the owners Valerie and Frederic who are there all the time to give friendly help and advice. If you like an authentic experience this is the place for you.We got an amazing room in front with a view of the yellow cafe and overlooking the square. The windows were original french windows opening up to the charm of the square. We were amazed at the pool which is situated in the back of hotel as it was so tranquil to relax have a swim and a drink listening to the beautiful birdsong. Our car was parked in a private car park by a lovely helpful man Ludvik. We had breakfast by the pool and were so refreshed and relaxed after our stay.We would highly recommend this hotel as it is memorable and clean ,friendly and romantic.

Room Tip: front room big spacious room with view

“Quaint with lots of character”

I spent a few nights in the Hotel and I loved it. The big doors, huge windows, large room and roomy halls set a romantic ambiance. I have now decided when I travel to take advantage of the breakfasts, as it starts me up and I can concentrate on exploring the Village rather than finding eats. The breakfast did not disappoint, a variety of breads, croissants, jams, meats, cheese, cereal and beautiful scrambled eggs, and of course coffee or tea. Good value for the extra money. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and clean. This was the biggest Hotel I staid in while in France, different and charming! It is situated in a great location with all kinds of shops and eats around, easy to walk to all the ruins and sights. I would definately go again.
It is right in the front of Le Place and at night people are up late singing, smoking and chatting until the wee hours. That didn't bother me, but you might want to get a room in a quieter part of the Hotel. The only down side was when the garbage truck came...had to close the window and cover my nose!!!

Room Tip: It is right on Le Place and at night people are up late singing, smoking and chatting until the wee...

“Good atmosphere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 September 2011

We spent two nights at the Hotel du Forum and would happily return. When we arrived by train in the evening there weren't any taxis to be found so we called the Hotel du Forum to ask for advice and they very kindly sent someone to pick us up at the station and bring us back to the hotel. Our room (#6) was quiet, air-conditioned, rather large and faced onto the pool set in the very charming courtyard. You can take your breakfast there if you wish. There is a very nice atmosphere at this hotel, it is well-run and has excellent staff.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the courtyard for quiet.

“A beautiful, friendly and peaceful hotel full of character”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 September 2011

This is the second time I have been to Hotel Du Forum. I loved this hotel so much I had to bring my husband after having been 14 years earlier with a friend. It is a magical place with an atmosphere of tranquillity. We have been to so many hotels in many different parts of the world and this is the best hotel ever! The hotel is a family run hotel and the features and décor are very beautiful. The pool has a lovely setting, where you can have your breakfast if you wish. I love the staircase, the bar and pool room and the lobby with antique sinks. Our room was larger than average and had quality antique furniture (you’d love the furniture and curios dotted around even if you’re not into antiques!) Our bathroom was modern and also quite large. Our room overlooked the pool which was really lovely. Breakfasts are full continental and you can have your croissant, tea, coffee or chocolate served to you at the pool whilst you eat your breakfast. Hotel du Forum is in the centre of Arles in a traditional old square with restaurants; opposite the famous Van Gogh Café La Nuit. The staff give excellent service, are very polite and are willing to help with any of your requirements.

The only slight downsides were that the mattress was not the most conducive to sleep and we had one or two mosquitoes in the room which were not visible but I heard them at night. I asked the cleaning staff to close the windows after they had been in the room which they did. I think we could have avoided mosquito bites by spraying the room in the first instance.

We are definitely going to go back to this wonderful hotel it helped to make our holiday really special!

Room Tip: Book up by phoning the hotelier and ask for a good room
