We arrived in La Rochelle (early October 2011) without a booking and walked in to try for a room for 2 nights, we immediately picked up on the feel of this place, just like our favourite local hotel back home in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia - The Shipwright Arms. We were right, this hotel is spot on, value for money, great staff, spotless room with good facilities, best location, quiet of a night, good restaurant and a lovely courtyard pool which we overlooked.
Not bad for the last room left as there was a jazz festival on the coming weekend.
We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to any of our friends (but note that we are in our 60's please).

Stayed three nights in August. Simple but comfortable rooms. Our room was not overlooking the port, further back overlooking pool which was fine as quiet at night. Reception staff were all delightful and helpful. Free wifi in rooms. The only slight negative was the restaurant where we ate on the first evening and the restaurant staff were obviously in a hurry to rush us through our meal.

The hotel is just opposite the harbour and in the middle of the city. There is a small pation with a pool and the breakfast buffet is ok. The rooms are quite spacious and clean. Definitley a good place to stay.

The location is the best about this hotel right at the edge of the harbor. the rooms were clean and spacious. breakfast was good too. only negative point is that there is no car park.
