Great for town sightseeing and a good menu. Not cheap but good value.

Booked tn for one night on the 8th June. Found the hotel to be very central and quiet. The hotel is tired and dirty, Dinner was a total disaster and the overall stay was expensive. The hotel choice in Laon is not good but try one out of town and you will fair much better.

We picked this hotel purely on its location near to the town centre and for that it has no competition. However we felt that the price of our stay was expensive compared to two wonderful hotels that we stayed at the nights previously in Alsace and Switzerland. The room had a threadbare and stained carpet as well as being only big enough for the double bed. There were no reading lights and a barely adequate shower.

The next morning we were woken by a woman next door having a bath with her child the walls were so thin every splash was clearly audible at 6am.

The evening meal was reasonable as was the house wine so not entirely negative but we won't be back !

We have dined here before, but never stayed the night, twice having opted for the slightly cheaper chain hotels in the lower town. On the whole because this is in the centre it's probably the better option. I believe it may be under new ownership. Reception was friendly and attentive. An old building lends charm, the downside being a rather steep staircase and no lift. Floor boards creak and unfortunately the occupants of the room above moved around quite a lot for half an hour either side of midnight. The evening meal was superb. Traditional rather than inventive but bursting with flavour. I defy anyone to find a better meal for 22 euros. Breakfast was what you expect in an establishment of this sort. The Garage might get a little congested possibly, but we experienced no problems. Well worth considering.
