I found my experience of staying in the Levasseur a little odd.. In some ways, an intriguing and interesting establishment.. in others, just a little run down and dowdy..
The staff were very friendly and helpful at check in.
My room was in a rear building and dragging my bags to it involved negotiating some stairs etc.
The room itself was tired and dowdy and I never felt particularly comfortable in it. No aircon, but there was a fan over the bed which did, to my surprise, have an effect.. Biut it can be hot in that part of the world at that time of year.. and, well, you could find the room very hot on coming back..
Opening a window in the bathroom to let fresh air in also allowed people outside to see in.
I think they may have better rooms in another part of the hotel, but I never confirmed that??
Free internet was good.
Local parking is limited. The hotel does have access to an underground car park next door, but a) it's tight and b) there is only limited space and you can find yourself parked in spots reserved for other businesses.. I you cannot get into there, then you need the public (paid) parking in the main square nearby..
Location is good.
Breakfast was fine, typical for the area.
I didn't eat there at night.
Location great for centre of town.
Overall.. Not bad, but not that great, either..
