We used to prefer Kyriad Hotels because they were not as cheap as other formula brands where the heating did not come on until you entered the room which was not much help in winter but they were not as expensive as others like Campanile or Mercure. Sadly at 83 euros for two with a rudimentary breakfast, eg the only fresh fruit was an apple, that is no longer the case. At this price we thought that at least they could provide a plug in the bathroom basin even if there is a long tradition in French hotels of not doing so. Checking in also took ages while the one receptionist gave very lengthy instructions on how to find the hotel several times to a male French driver.

We opted for a standard room but the tastefully arranged cushions on the beds as shown on the photograph in the lift were absent. Another reason for choosing this particular hotel was that we wanted to eat in-house after a late arrival - despite being advertised in illuminated signs outside and with hours posted inside, the restaurant exists no longer.

We arrived at around 8.30pm having driven from the Spanish border, we were given a room overlooking the car park on the ground floor, the room was small and just accommodated the bed and a very small bathroom, its seemed claustrophobic, although it was clean, the bathroom was tiny and had burn marks in the basin , the bed was bigger than average and relativity comfortable, restaurant closed at 9.00pm, so we retreated to Quick burger place across the road, ok for a one night stay on the way home

Room was not over big, but clean and tidy with a nice bathroom, tea & coffee available. Restaurant had a basic french menu, which surprisingly was very good.

Stayed here on the way to Bordeaux. Rooms comfortable and clean but stay on the car park side as otherwise backs onto a noisy road and rooms without air conditioning make it unlikely you will have a good night's sleep.
