“Lovely”

We stayed here in the summer of 2009. It was a beautiful hotel with a stunning view of the church. The rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable and there was air conditioning! The attached restaurant served excellent food, and the staff was welcoming to us despite our poor french.

If we go back to Bayeux, we will definitely try to stay at the Reine Mathilde again.

Room Tip: If you've got a lot of bags, get a lower floor as there are no elevators

“Ideal for a City Centre Trip”

Although we stayed in January, it was freezing and we were probably the only customers, the welcome was warm, cheery and we were made to feel like our visit was important. Reception closes around 10:00pm (it's a small hotel) with a keypad entry after hours. We had left the hotel early on the day they changed the keypad code and didn't return until late as we were visiting friends. The manager waited up until we arrived around midnight, and was there to open the door for us, wish us a good evening and even apologised for our inconvenience. The shower was fantastic, like being in a warn, tropical shower, just the thing after a day out in the freezing, but sunny, January locality.

Happy to recommend this hotel, and would (will) certainly go back there on any subsequent visit.

“So much more than a 2 star!”

We stayed at the Hotel Reine Mathilde in January 2012 for one night only-how I wished we could have stayed longer! Rooms were well decorated and clean. En suite spotless with superb shower. Restaurant food plentiful and delicious. Staff friendly, very helpful and welcoming despite our lack of french. Breakfast fresh and plentiful. We had a lovely view of the cathedral and the hotel is very central-literally a 5minute walk to the Bayeux tapestry. This hotel deserves more than 2 stars-would definitely recommend and would love to return in the future and stay longer.

“A Home Away from Home”

It's been awhile (since April 2011) since I stayed there but the pleasant memories remain. Parking was a bit of a challenge but we found spots along the road pretty close to the hotel each night. The greeting we got from the front desk staff was warm and welcoming. Our room was very cozy but cute and fun. The shower was among the best I've ever experienced...rain shower! It was hard to leave it each morning! The hotel had a wonderful restaurant that we enjoyed one evening along with cider from the region. Another bonus was the proximity of the hotel to the Tapestry...a very short walk. We felt like this was a great place for our Normandy visits, and we spent several very pleasant nights at the hotel! Breakfast provided ample food and beverages each morning.

Room Tip: Not sure if all rooms open up toward the street and cathedral, but ours did and provided a great nig...

“Very nice place in a great location.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 January 2012

Hotel RM is a fantastic little hotel in the middle of Bayeux. Parking is a hit of an issue, but since we spent most time touring around, it wasn't too bad. The rooms are quaint and clean and are well furnished. We stayed on the top floor and didnt have any problems. The restaurant was good, but their buffet breakfast was a little sparse. It is right around the.corner from a great street market. We would certainly stay here again.
