I read reviews of this hotel before booking and can only say these people have very low standards. I don't expect the ritz but this hotel is minging. On arrival we found a hotel in darkness surrounded by skips, builders fences, piles of rubbish, sand and machinery. The hotel looks like a spanish developers building site and we thought it was closed. Parking is behind the hotel with the entrance off a completely different road. There is no security and residents of a condo park there as well. If this hotel gets half full you can forget having a parking space. The dining room shown in the pictures is closed and dismantelled so don't expect to get a meal here as advertised. Not that you would want to eat here. The receptionist is pleasant enough and does her best. The creaking manky lift to the rooms can take two people max and if you have more than one travel case forget it. The rooms are basic and try to be tidy but are in fact dirty and un-maintained. they come complete with creaking light outside the window. there are no tea or coffee making facilities and there is not even a hair drier for the ladies. You get one small flat pillow on the bed teamed up with ancient sheets complete with holes in them. The bathroom we had was dirty, covered in mildue and came complete with a stained and cracked toilet, oh and no extractor to remove the damp or the loo smells. This just filters into your room. The towels, when wet, made you smellier than before you took a shower. The shower itself is taken off the bath tap so good luck getting a proper temperature and the cheap stained curtain follows you around the bath like a bad smell. Breakfast is a joke and for the 9 euros they charge extra the name Dick Turpin came to mind. In summery find somewhere else to stay. Pay the extra and do yourself a favour. Try the Hotel Borel around the corner. Much nicer. The Gens de Mer is just a doss house.
