We stayed here for 3 nights in late September. Although a little out-of-the way, Les Gens de Mer was still walking distance to downtown Dunkerque and an excellent value. Our room was large, sparkling clean, and had a lovely view of the bridge and canal, and was under 50 Euros a night. The breakfast buffet (available for 7 Euros) was very European, but also a wonderful value, and included fruit juices, croissants and bread, cold cereals, cheese, hard-boiled eggs, yogurt, and usually smoked fish of some sort, as well as hot water for tea and coffee. Give the coffee a miss, though, as there's better to be found elsewhere.
