Oh my god! This was just an overnight stay because we had a Ferry early the next morning. I'm really glad we got there late and took time out to have dinner in Bruges on-route. The hotel is hard to find as it's down a side street and not sign posted. On arrival the reception is filthy and the reception guy was awful, not very helpful or understanding. Throughout the hotel there is a distinct cigarette smell. The hotel reminded me of the classic Carry On Abroad Film, a hotel not finished and building work everywhere (which I can guarantee would not meet the health & safety regulations in the UK!), cables hanging, wood nailed over holes, etc. We decided to take the stairs to our first floor room rather than the lifts. When we got to the first floor we saw the stairs going up to the second floor boarded off. It was done in such a way that it reminded me of the zombie movies and how in them to survive you'd attempt to board the doors up yourself. I travel a lot and I have to say this is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in and I've stayed in some bad ones. Our room was okay (apart from the cigarette smell), our bathroom was dirty though, there were hairs in the bath. The pillows were as thick as a rolled up pair of socks but the sheets were at least clean. We're back in England now but I still think I'm suffering from shock from how dismal this place was and the fact that it hasn't been shut down. For the same price you can book in to the Ibis just down the road, which we would have it it hadn't been fully booked. The pictures for this hotel in my opinion are very misleading. Avoid at all costs.
