Reception, Nicolas and colleages friendly, spoke fairly good english, but ok as I speak fluent french, Room dated but spotlesssly clean except for water stains in ceiling (under roof) corridors peeling wallpaper. Would have been acceptable but for the rudest frenchman I have met in 40 years of travelling in france on duty in the breakfast room. I actually went to reception for hot water for my tea. This guy was so rude when I complained about dirty tablecloths, lipstick on orange juice glass, tepid vacuum flask coffee. Location was good, but for fact had pre-paid for 3 nights would have left. When I complained at reception they said we know he's a problem, but impossible to sack antone in france.

Rated as 3 stars, its 1.5 to 2 stars at best (on a good day). Great location and very courteous front desk staff. However the rooms leave much to be desired. Very stuffy, and cramped. Dated everything, Beds old and uncomfortable, 13 inch color TV in the room. Bathrooms were basic, old fixtures and not in the best sanitary conditions. Our room did not have AC. The breakfast is extremely simple, bread, ham, yogurt, coffee, tea, and corn flakes, thats it. I´ll definately stay somewhere else the next time.
