We were grateful to have only booked a single night. The hotel is easily accessible from the main routes but alarm bells should have rung at check in. We checked in using our "school boy" french and were requested to pay in full. The gentleman already had our credit card details. Our room was situated on the top floor and as we climbed the last few steps noticed a loose rug on top step covering an area of worn carpet. The corridor had a damp musty smell. We entered our room and stared at our bed in amazement. We had a bunk bed horizontally across the head of the bed. The carpet was filthy as were the net curtains at the dirty window. The bathroom was very dirty and brown water ran from the taps, the shower and toilet basin was badly stained. The hotel was, surprisingly, fully occupied and we didn't speak enough french to make our complaints. The breakfast was extremely minimal. We are surprised that this hotel has any star rating.
