My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights as part of an 8 week holiday through Europe, UK and Ireland. We chose this hotel based on its location, facilities and Tripadvisor reviews.
We arrived here having driven from Nimes. Finding the hotel was straight forward as it is located just outside the medieval town. The hotel is a delight, with a lovely garden and reception area where you can sit and have an evening drink or meal whilst looking out at the castle. Similarly the rooms were well furnished and of an excellent standard. The hotel also has a pool and spa which were well used during our stay.
The primary reason for visiting Carcassone and staying here was to visit the Medieval City, and this place is perfect for doing so. Whilst recognising the ongoing debate about whether it is better to stay inside or outside of the old city, this felt the best of both worlds – we were only a 5 min walk to the old city, so could explore it at will, and had dinner in the old city both nights, yet could also sit and admire the outsides of the city whilst enjoying a relaxing pre-dinner drink. Based on advice from the staff we also visited the “new town” part of Carcassone, which was a 15 minute walk away, and were so glad we did, as that part of the town had its own unique charm and appeal.
Internet access was generally good and we had breakfast one morning in the hotel which we paid for which was nice.
The staff were very helpful and friendly and able to help us out with all the questions we asked.
In summary I would definitely stay there again.
