I booked this hotel because of it's free parking, which is good, however the car park is very small. If you want to park your car, you need to get there early. It was fairly easy to find, and there are the brown hotel signs that point the way also.
The room was ok. I realise that rooms in the Paris area are small. It was clean enough as well. The only real complaint was the shower in the bathroom. Clean enough, but to get into it, one had to step up into it. That step up was 15 inches! Not so bad when getting in, but getting out, it was very slippy. I can easily see a person with arthritis or other mobility issues having a difficult time. An accident waiting to happen really. And the shower head was waaaay up there. Not being adjustable, a short person can only just stand there and drown. There was no room to move to either side.
The staff were friendly enough, though not particularly helpful. When asked about currency exchange they all sent me to different places, none of which would exchange my sons money when we got there. All of the staff members I dealt with spoke English, which was easier than translating.
There is a direct dial phone in the room, but the rates charged were outrageously high compared to the other french hotels we stayed in with the same service. One phone call that lasted less than 3 minutes was charged 10.50Euro. The same phone call in our previous nights hotel had cost 1.70Euro.
The Gare Rive Gauche Versailles was about a 10-12 minute walk from the hotel. The market square (which was one of the best things about our Versailles stay) is just around the corner.
Over all, I might stay there again, but only after doing a lot more research. I think there was better value for the money in the area if I'd only had the time to find them. I'd only recommend this to a friend if they were already familiar with European hotels and had realistic expectations.
