“Location, location, location & excellent service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

This is not a luxurious hotel but it is very comfortable and is in an excellent location with first class service. The staff is multi-lingual and most accomodating. The hotel is on the Rue Cluer which is wonderful for sitting in an outdoor cafe and watching people and their pets carrying on with their daily activities. But, more importantly, it is a short distance from the Eiffel Tower & located by a metro stop. There are many restaurants, local shopping and sites to see within walking distance. We loved this hotel and look forward to returning within the not too distant future.

Dear guest,
What a pleasure to read your review! You surely spend a great time in Paris and enjoy everypart of our wonderful district. It is indeed a good combination between touristic beauties ( Eiffel tower, Invalides, Museums of the Louvre, Orsay and the Quai Branly ) and local goodies ( coffees, chocolate shops, amazing restaurants of great french chefs like Constant, Piège, Passard..., pastries...). Our metro stop "Ecole Militaire" is very convenient and we surely give our best to make your holidays inforgettable organizing visits of Paris, reservation of shows, restaurants, cruise on the Seine, trips to Disneyland, Versailles, Giverny, Chantilly, Castles of the Loire, Bourgogne... You see, we have thousand of new things to make you discover so when do you come back ;-) ????!! Thank you again for your kind message. Take care dear guest.

Cordially,

Tina and Mo

“Great room, Amazing service, Location a winner”

We stayed at the Hotel Motte Picquet for an overnight and the location right off the rue cler ensures you have everything you need at your fingertips. All the staff is warm and friendly. The lobby has several guide books and Rick Steves books all there for you to borrow. There is a computer in the lobby for hotel use as well as very strong free wi-fi in the hotel. I tested the speed and it was 16mpbs, which was good enough to stream music and videos for the kids off iTunes. We stayed in the Junior Suite and it was a good amount of room with a shower and clean bathroom. The only reason I can't give it five stars is that there were some signs of wear and tear, such as in the bathroom where a little new coat of paint could help freshen things up. However, that was such a minor thing! The breakfast was great and unlike several hotels, they did not charge us for breakfast for our kids (who barely eat anything). It was like staying in a quaint bed and breakfast and the service was warm, friendly, helpful and we felt like we were in someone's home. Loved it! Stay here for a great Parisian experience.

Room Tip: We stayed in room facing the street (Motte Picquet). A bit noisy with the window open, but closed, y...

Dear guests,

What a pleasure to read your review this morning, thank you so much for the time you took to write it with so many details. No doubt it will help some other customers to have the feeling they already know the Hotel de la Motte Picquet by heart...
As you said, our location by the wonderful rue Cler is a great luck for us giving us the opportunity to taste so many incredible breads, chocolates, hot drinks all day long...
We offer a good wi-fi connection as the majority of our guests are coming from far away and like to be able to write to their friends or google their future visits. You noticed that we keep a lot of guides at disposal of our guests including those of Rick Steeves very important for us as we are mentioned in it as one of the best hotels in the left bank !!! We had the chance to welcome both Rick Steeve and his brother who recommended the warm ambiant of the Hotel de la Motte-Picquet. We are happy to read that you enjoyed it too.

Best regards,

Tina and Mo

“Charming and Convenient”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2012

Very close to the metro, this hotel is also located at the head of a pedestrian-only street (Rue Cler) that has a wonderful collection of bakeries, food stores, cafes and shops. The hotel is small, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. There is a sitting area off the lobby that has a computer for guests to use, and there is free wifi throughout the hotel. Our room was small, but charming and adequate for our needs. We didn't eat breakfast at the hotel, but were pleased to learn we could use the small kitchen during the day to heat water for tea, which made us feel right at home.
We will definitely return to this hotel in the future; the friendly atmosphere and the great location are very appealing.

Dear guests,

It is very nice to read your kind message about the Hotel de la Motte Picquet today. We are glad you loved the location of the Hotel which is indeed extremely convenient as it is located just in front of the metro "Ecole Militaire", on the corner of one of the most typical pedestrian street of Paris, the rue Cler where you can find day and night great food : the fresh market with country's products in the morning, bistros for lunch, chocolate shop and amazing bakeries in the afternoon and charming brasseries or gastronomic restaurants in the evening !! We are so lucky ...
We propose a breakfast with a large variety of goodies but we do understand that some customers prefer to spend time in the lovely caffes of the capital.

Be certain we are waiting to welcome you back with impatience!

See you soon,

Tina and Mo

“Service Above All”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

Location is great: a nice neighborhood and literally one minute walk from the metro (line 8, station Ecole Militaire- Metro is quite easy to navigate in, but make sure you buy tickets for your evening journeys during the day or in central stations) and 15 minutes (pleasant) walk from the Eiffel Tower.

Value is very good, if you can get a good deal: we paid early booking rate of 119 euro per night, which (I think) is really cheap considering the level of the hotel, its location and especially other hotel prices in Paris.

The room was spotless and nicely decorated, but the bed is very firm and it may affect your sleep quality. You can't call it a large room in any aspect, but it has more than enough room for you and your luggage, especially, if you, like us, prefer to be outside sightseeing (also there is plenty of hanging space and a free room safe).

Above anything else, however, is the service! Mo is such a nice and helpful person, it is really unbelievable. The whole week prior to our arrival we managed a mail correspondence because I needed to book some places to dine in and Mo was happy to assist in anything I requested. Then, when we arrived we were greeted with a big smile that lasted all through our stay and Mo was more than willing to help in any request, small or big.
Thanks a lot, Mo! You made our engagement trip even more memorable!

Room Tip: Room 206- with a bath, rather than a shower- real surprise, considering the usual size of bathrooms...

“Welcomed and cared for like family”

Unbelievably warm, friendly atmosphere. Everyone offered help, advice and service beyond expectation. Delightful neighborhood with many cafes and shops along Rue Cler, Grenelle, etc. Easy walk to the Eiffel Tower.
Example: When all I wanted was coffee and we weren't eating the breakfast that day, Mo insisted on going downstairs and making a tray of coffee for my wife and me.
Example: When we arrived, Aymerik, the owner, welcomed us and gave us our first glimpse.
Finally, for adult son and us (couple), the duplex room was a perfect find.
