My fiance and I recently stayed at the Jardin de L'Odeon on a trip to Europe and are still talking about the hotel. Although I would have preferred initially to find a hotel room with more space, I quickly got over the size of the room due to the location. We literally walked all over Paris everyday from this location. The St. Germain area is incredible and easily accessible by foot or taxi to mostly everything you would ever want to see. The restaurants in the neighborhood were friendly and had excellent service. We even spotted Princess Charlotte of Monaco at a little Italian restaurant only a few blocks from the hotel, which made my fiance's trip! The staff at the hotel went above and beyond to ensure that we always knew where we were going and that we were comfortable. I would definitely consider staying here again in the future and recommending it to other people.

This is one of those hotels that's more than OK but not quite wow. Better than average, and great as a business hotel (especially if you manage to get a good rate) with a wonderful location and very friendly staff. It's not, though, a hotel for romance since the rooms are a little bit tired (very clean, well maintained, but just feel a generation or two older than current minimalist boutique hotels, well-designed modern capsule/chain hotels).

Beds are comfy but - in Parisian style - take up most of the modest floor space ;)

Staff are invariably friendly and helpful at all hours.

Street rooms are great and although there's some "bustle" they're not noisy and they have the benefit of being able to open windows, hang out and look at l'Odeon. The rooms get a bit stuffy and the aircon is more 'blowing' than 'climate control', but that could have been a winter setting?

Top marks for free, effective wifi in the rooms.

So although I'm not gushing about the wonders of this hotel I do like it (just don't "love" it!), and this is my second stay here. For business it's my default hotel (especially since it's an easy hop from Gare du Nord), but it wouldn't be necessarily my first choice for a romantic weekend or if I had the kids with me too.

The service at this hotel is great, they do everything to help you from confirm reservations to help you towards the best deals is just the best.
Room size is very small when compare to America standards, but I must say that for what I saw in Europe that is consider a very good size room and very functional. This area is great quiet, but close to everything, nice breakfast for 10 euros.

The hotel has a superb location being at the centre of the left bank area, and a short walk from the Luxembourg Gardens and RER station. The lobby is very stylish and the reception staff extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast room includes an external garden area which is nice to look out on compared to the usual dark cellar breakfast rooms in Paris hotels.
We had a deluxe bedroom with a lovely terrace but the room was let down by the small bathroom which lacked a proper shower (you have to hold the shower hose whist sitting in the bath).
