“Perfect getaway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 December 2011

Contrary to the reviews of this hotel, we have come back pleasantly surprised. The hotel is in a quiet(ish) location - you're in Paris afterall - and the hotel was clean, bright and best of all, the staff were friendly and very helpful. Yes the rooms are quite small, but very comfortable and the shower/bath facilities are excellent. The Metro is around the corner, as are plenty of shops, cafes and bars etc. The breakfast was ok, probably the only slight let-down, but still worth filling up on if it's included in your stay. There were no problems checking in and out, and we used paris vip limo shuttle service to transport us to and from the hotel which was also excellent.

So, contrary to what people have said, this hotel is a little gem, and is a 4*. And I'm not just saying this because we got engaged (!) it really is worth it if you want a comfortable and relaxing stay in the hustle and bustle of Paris.

“Nice small hotel not in the center”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 November 2011

We were three person in two rooms. The double room was OK, but the singel one was very small. The hotle is very clean and nice Marocan style decorated. The personel are COMSI COMSA, some nice and some not so. The Hotel is not located in the center, but it is in a nice quite area with many shops and resturants. It is not far from a good Metro line 4, and if you have no problem using the Metro, then it is very good way to get to the city fast. There is free WIFI only in the lobby, and you have to buy WIFI if you like to use in the room (it costs 19ERU for 30 days no limit). The brekfest is nice more then regular erupean style. It is not 4 stars hotel, but is it I guess nice 3 stars hotel good for staying in nice and not to expansive place.

Room Tip: It is located in the 14 aera near Metro 4 last station Porte d'Orleans.

“Great hotel but not 4 star”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 October 2011

We have just come back from Paris after spending 6 nights in this hotel. Our overall experience was of a clean room with all the basics. The rooms are decorated in a North African style to give the hotel something different and it is quite nice. Do not expect any 4 star luxury, this is a nice 3 star hotel at best. Contrary to the previous reviews, our room was spotless and cleaned everyday and the staff were very helpful, they even printed our Eiffel Tower tickets from email for us!

The local area has a number of cafes, restaurants and bars which we used mostly in the morning for breakfast - the hotel one seemed very pricey. There are also a couple of small grocery stores nearby, useful for stocking up on water and fruit/snacks to keep you going during the day. The hotel is not that close to the main attractions but there is a metro stop within 5 minutes walk - Port d'Orleans. You can also get the B mainline trains from the university and the number 28 bus goes towards the Eiffel Tower.

Room Tip: Don't spend 14.50euro on breakfast in the hotel, there is a fantastic cafe/bakery near Alesia st...

“Stylish and pleasant just do not expect the Ritz and is good value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 September 2011

This small hotel is decorated in Morrocan style and rooms even have arabic influenced names. The internal decoration is quite stylish and rooms have most facilities (including French TV not that we found much worth watching) and the local area has a good number of interesting sights and is only a twenty minute trip on the metro to central paris (if you have time the walk is a good if longish one). Almost on your doorstep are Montparnasse Cemetey and some very good local shops and cafes are only a short walk away although the actual street is a quiet one. The rooms are not massive but that is the same in most of Paris. Contrary to other Trip Adviser reviews our room was clean and staff helpful. Breakfast is basic but has what you need. At the prices you can get if you go via last minute or at off peak times this hotel is very good value. Maybe not four star but certainly not the worst hotel in Paris by a long way (and there are some horrible hotels in Paris). On the basis of a recent trip would recommend it and would also recommend Paris though the cost of eating out seems to have increased a lot and there are more homeless in the streets it is still a stylish and romantic city. And you can get there by rail!

Room Tip: Make request clear in advance and do worry about rooms facing the road as it is quiet

“Wouldn't go back here if it was the last hotel in Paris”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 July 2011

After checking into the hotel we found what we thought were a couple of insects in our room. It's Paris, July, to be expected. I now have indelibly etched in my brain what a bed bug looks like. I should because I have over 200 bites caused by them from this room infestation. Couple this with the broken lampshade and the pieces of glass that were still sticking out, as well as the sink that didn't drain, we should have guessed that this supposed 4 star hotel would turn out not to be all that it promised

One would expect that a hotel of this quality would be sympathetic to the problem, but the manager basically didn't believe that an issue existed until the head of housekeeping went up and checked for herself the bed littered with splotches of my blood. They changed our room, but that was only the beginning of the nightmare. On the second morning even more bites appeared than from the day before, and at this point I insisted that the hotel call me a doctor, which I then had to argue with them to foot the medical bill.

They told me that they couldn't give me my money back for my stay, because I hadn't paid them directly, haven't booked on line. And in two days of this hell, not once did anyone apologise, or tell me that they were sorry for the distress.

And here's the kicker!!!!! the hardy resistant little bugs have made their way home with me. It's going to cost me a 100GBP at least to fumigate my house. I'm on steroids and antihistamines to try and calm the itching form 200+ bites and I've just woken up this morning to new bites.

All visitors to this hotel beware room 405 and 705, because those two at least have bed bugs.
