Room 601 December 2-3, 2010
Small, clean, quiet, well maintained older hotel. Professional multi-lingual staff on duty 24/7. Great wireless internet connection in lobby and in room (included in room rate). Will hold bags at front desk if you arrive early. Breakfast is available for 10Eur. Not much to do in this neighborhood, but 3 minute walk to Metro will get you to the action.
ROOM: While the décor was from the 70s, it was not threadbare and the bed was very comfortable. The room was small, clean and uncluttered. It had a plasma tv, fridge, great wireless internet, and a tub and shower (the water pressure was good). The heat worked great and we could adjust the temperature to our liking. Double-paned windows kept the noise out, and we could open the windows if we wanted some fresh air. Being on the top floor meant we didn’t have to worry about noise from guests upstairs (highly recommend 6th floor room!).
NOTE TO LADIES: If you use a hairdryer, bring your own. The one provided is from the 70s and does not blow any air … it is useless. Also, there is only one outlet in the bathroom and you can’t plug anything into it except electric razors – but not a problem. You can plug hairdryers and irons into the outlet near the mirrored closet doors … this worked even better because you didn’t have to worry about the humidity in the bathroom
SUMMARY: Clean, quiet, close to Metro, reasonably priced—great value. Book through their website for the best price.
