I never actually stayed at this hotel and hope I'm not going to have to eat my words. For various reasons, my husband and I wanted to stay here on a lower level room. There are no lifts in the hotel and I think you would say this place is 5 or 6 stories high. The restaurant is the ground floor, so you walk up a flight of stairs to get to the first floor (which I would consider the second floor).
To make a long story short, I initially provided them with the wrong dates of my stay in Paris and confirmed a room on the first (i.e. second) floor. When I realized I provided the wrong dates, the only rooms available were on higher floors for the dates of our stay - I think it was the fourth (i.e. fifth) floor. Since I am older and definitely out of shape, I think this would have killed me!
When I initially realized my mistake, it was in the afternoon here in Southern California and around 10:30 PM in France. I directly called the hotel and spoke to someone very nice associated with the restaurant who initially spoke French but quickly switched over to English. He was quite nice and told me he'd leave a message and that I should call back when someone was there who dealt with booking (I think it was between 7 or 8 am and 5 pm Paris time). And I was eventually able to cancel my reservations after e-mailing Sophie and Morgane.
Based on the very excellent customer service I received from this place, I wanted to give it a good rating (even though I haven't been to Paris yet). I trust that they officially cancelled my reservation!! If not, i'll write back again. I did a lot of research on places to stay. I'm sure this would be a great place to stay if you can climb the stairs!!
