“family short trip”

I visited this hotel with my husband and baby (9 months). As requested, we were provided a travel cot for my child.

Our room was not as I expected. It was quite small and the decor was quite old-fashioned. It on the first floor (presumably as we had a baby with us?) so we weren't lucky to get a good view from our room. The amenities were as one would expect from a four-star hotel and the overall cleanliness was good. The tea/coffee maker was quite useful to us in particular. The corridor was quite narrow but a table and a mini-fridge which was empty were quite useful for us to store/place the baby food. The breakfast was average to our taste, because there were no fresh fruits and vegetables and the only type of meat (salamis and such) were pork so nothing for a non-pork eater.

On the bright side, the location was excellent in our view. We were able to walk to some tourist sites, the parking was about 300 metres away from the hotel and was not cheap but it was the standard cost for Paris, which is not a cheap city. If we went again, we would re-book this hotel but probably ask for a nicer room. We would first try to get a hotel room near the Latin Quarter though or Hotel de la Ville.

Room Tip: try to get a room on the higher floors as I've heard you get excellent views

“the morning shift reception is really stiff”

if possible better check in afternoon or evening as the morning shift lady really stiff, even when being friendly and spoke nicely she was with unfriendly tone as if speaking 1 or 2 words extra would kill her, out of that the hotel was nice. The other staffs were very helpfull too

Room Tip: dont book from travel agent as they will eat you up, better book directly of from tripadvisory

“Panoramic view”

We recommend this hotel!
The best thing about the hotel is the view, it is spectacular!! The open terrace on the rooftop with 360 degree view of Paris.
On the roof is not allowed to bring your own drinks and food (the one that is not bought in the hotel), but we had no problems with it.

Rooms are small and stuffy, the new LCD TV with 25 programs that are free, free safe, renovated bathroom. Linens and towels clean (they could buy new blankets!!)
The breakfast was great, only complaint is there is no scrambled eggs (to us it`s very important)! :)
Connection to the city by public transportation is excellent, 2 metro stations within 200m + bus station ....

“If you plan to visit Montmartre this is an excellent choice.”

We wanted to get a 'taste' of this neighbourhood for a couple of days. The Carlton's Hotel was the right price and right location between Sacre Couer and Moulin Rouge. The street Rochechouart is very busy but down the streets behind the hotel there were some nice areas. The front desk staff were very helpful even getting us tickets for Moulin Rouge on a Saturday two hours before the show! We wanted a quiet room and they gave us a courtyard room where we could sleep the whole night with the windows open - no noise! A taxi from CDG was €50 and we took the shuttle back. Hotel arrnaged it and it was on time and very simple! The breakfast was included and was good. The roof top terrace view is amazing.

Room Tip: Nicer rooms on the front but a busy street. Quiet but smalll rooms in back. Small beds but not unusu...

“Very good city hotel in Paris”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 October 2011

The hotel is located at the bottom of Montmartre
at the end of 9th disrict.
For some it is romantic, for others it might be a bit "busy".
Hotel has 9 floors, i.e. the higher floors might be "better".
Great top roof.
Staff was friendly and helpful.
Breakfast o.k. for us.
The room was clean, nice and actually not small.
It is a 4 star hotel and there is a price to pay (in Paris).

Have no negative points to report.

Room Tip: Choose higher floor on the quiet side.
