I stayed here 3 years ago with a friend, and came back this month with my boyfriend for the bank holiday because I had good memories of the place (and we got a great deal!)
Not much has changed. Reception staff are all very friendly, and the rooms are perfectly clean, if a little on the small side- but it is Paris. We were on the 6th floor facing the street and had no problems with the wifi. The one thing that did upset me was that the builders arrived at 8am on Monday (following the May 1st holiday) to begin construction work on the office block opposite, and it sounded like a warzone. Not the hotel's fault, of course, but it might be better to ask for a room facing the back if you don't want to be woken early.
We didn't have the breakfast for 10EUR as we felt we could find better value elsewhere.
For the price, I don't think you'll do better anywhere else in Paris. The hotel is really well located- walking distance to all the central sites, plus the metro and buses depart from the nearby St Lazare station. It's in the 9th, which is a really pretty area, filled with Haussman-era apartment blocks. It felt very safe too. It's also close to the huge department stores of Printemps & Galleries Lafayette if you fancy some high-end shopping.

Rooms were cleaned to a high standard everyday, and the overall upkeep of the hotel was good. Some basic toiletries were provided, and lots of fresh towels each day.
Overall, I couldn't really fault this place. I hope to be back again.More
