“Great place to stop on the way south”

Stopped here on the way from Calais to Barcelona. Paid 43 Euro plus 11.80 Euro for breakfast. Not as cheap as I've stayed on route but OK.

It is located just off the autoroute outside of the city next to a few other budget hotels. The reception was very good and friendly. The room was on a par with an Ibis and was clean. The hotel looks quite new. Internet is provided free of charge alough it is a fixed connection not WiFi. Reception offered to lend me a network cable for connection free of charge which was very good since in other budget hotels they have always charged. Had to go and ask for additional pillows as only two are supplied. These were quickly delivered to our room. Breakfast was good with the usual selection plus a hot option of bacon and eggs.

Very close to the hotel are a selction of places to eat. Reception has a range of menus available which was very useful in helping to decide where to go. Most of them are in easy walking distance. Don't be put off by the google street map that shows travellers on the other side of the road. Although there were still some there we had not problems with security and did not feel that they affected us in any way.

“Excellent value hotel. Paid £39/night double room B&B! Recommended.”

I stopped over night on my way up through Fance to Caen. I chose this place as I have previously stayed at the other excellent Ace Hotel in Clermont Ferrand and wanted to compare the two.

I was NOT disapointed. This place is very..VERY good value for money. I paid €41/night for the double room and €5.90 for an all you could eat continental breakfast. That's £39/night double room B&B with FREE Wifi and parking thrown in. WOW.

The room was spacious with French TV, free Internet (via RJ45 cable, provided at reception) and an excellent en suite shower room. The bed was comfortable and the room was air-conditioned . So all in all, excellent.

Breakfast was all you could eat. Scrambled eggs were a little over done and there were no baguettes but rolls instead, but that's being picky and really not an issue.

FREE Internet via RJ45 cable supplied by reception . (Premier Inn UK take note)

So..if you are staying in Clermont Ferrand on a budget...either of the ACE Hotels would be good. This one is closer to restaurants but the other ACE Hotel is newer. Your choice, I don't think you will be disappointed in either of the ACE hotels for the price. Bonne Voyage.

“Excellent value-for-money for short, car-based trip”

I have stayed here a few times now, and like all Ace hotels in the area, they have worked out what a short-stay guest wants for a very low price. This is confirmed by the fact that they are often full.

It is located just off the A75 motorway in a hotel/restaurant zone and so is not easy to get to without a car. However, from the hotel, there are about 8 restaurants within a 5-minute walk.

The rooms are quite basic, but are comfortable and not drab. Internet access is free. Breakfast is buffet service and is very good for the price (basic bacon & scrambled egg, with cereals, croissants, tea & coffee, etc., sets you back only 5€).

There is someone at the desk 24/7 and they are very polite and helpful.

Definitely a great place for a budget short stay during a car-based trip to Clermont-Ferrand.

“Excellent Stopover”

This is a great stopover point. There are a few restaurants nearby and an Irish pub that does greta food at a reasonable price. Well worth what I paid. Clean, comfortable, and easy to get to.
