“Ok Hotel but Cheapest Place we Could Find”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 December 2010

Check in was really efficient which I was impressed with as the place was busy. These apartments are very big and have a small kitchenette inside which is useful if you want to chill some wine or have some bread and cheese like we did. The bathrooms are ok although a bit dated but the shower worked really well and there was plenty of hot water.

The location was ok, about a 10 minute walk from the train station and a 15-20 minute walk from the centre of town.

The biggest downside was that the bed was probably the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept in. They had one of those very cheap thin foam mattresses and my back was in a lot of pain although my boyfriend was ok so perhaps it was just my side of the bed. As a result however, I don’t think I could bring myself to stay here again which is a shame. Despite it being one of the cheapest places we could find when we booked if I had to stay in Strasbourg again, I think I would pay a bit more for a proper bed.

“Find better place so that you can pay less”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 June 2010

I was cheated by the hotel - I had to use some complicated booking system for my business trip, and in the end I've been overcharged by 60 EUR. The room had a big hole in the carpet, and the shower is flooding all the time. The breakfast really sucks, especially on sundays, because they obviously buy everything on Monday and serve it for the rest of the week. But mostly I am really angry that I was robbed of 60EUR - so better take more expensive hotel with more honest people, so in the end one will pay less.

“A perfectly acceptable place”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 June 2010

Considering how cheap the rooms are, the hotel is perfectly acceptable. Yes - it is not brand new, the carpets have accumulated some stains on them, but all in all the place is clean, the staff is nice, and the location is pretty central.
Of course there are some negatives: the kitchenette lacked anything to wash the dishes with and the cleaning personnel doesn't do your dishes unless you expressly ask. The internet connection was spotty, but that seems to be because the hotel uses the city wide WiFi network instead of its own router. Rooms facing the railway can be quite loud, when trains are passing, but as soon as you close the window, you don't hear a thing.
All in all, I would say this place isn't that bad. Of course, if you're looking for an excellent hotel with extras and scented candles etc, this isn't the place.

“Dirty & Smelly: not as advertised!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 September 2009

We went for the great Christmas market and besides the hotel our trip was great, the hotel is split into two so the location is not as great as it seems. The rooms were really dirty and smelly, the carpet was horrible. While tghe hotel was cheap, is no reason to be dirty and smelly!!! they should do a major renovation!!!! If one could put 0 instead of one I would!!!!

“not recommended”

This is a hostel not an hotel.
The kitchen is not fully equipped eg only a frying pan, some cutlery/dishes --each room had different items. No means of cleaning items used apart from water. We eventually were given a pan to boil water. Difficult to obtain a 2nd pillow. Room fan stuffed with paper and broken: no plug or fitting for hand basin. Don't expect beds to be made tho' some were. rooms not very clean.Corridor carpet filthy.
Sheets were clean and towels sometimes changed. Breakfast poor value. Reception staff were polite but 1 was not helpful.
There was a reasonable selection of restaurants nearby.
