The hotel is literally just across the road from the train station. Noise was not a problem - good doulbe glazed windows and the heavy curtains blocked out the light. Room was spacious and clean. It had a safe. The towels were nice and thick with various complimentary toiletries. Friendly receptionists, who spoke English and French. There was a nice bar with a modern lobby with free Internet. Breakfast was Euros 14.90, which was rather expensive considering there were plenty of cafes nearby where one could eat for a fraction of that price. As you come out of the railway station and turn right there is a MacDonalds, but by the side of it there is another cafe, which looked nice. We went into the one across the road from it by the bus station. It was a bakery with a cafe. Lovely food and drinks all at very reasonable prices. Walking into the centre of town takes maximum 10 mins. There are plenty of restaurants if you wander around. The town was quite empty as the tourist season had not yet started. Things start at Easter. There were plenty of little supermarkets in which to buy drinks and snacks. Strasbourg is a very pleasant town with plenty of timber framed houses.
