This pub was a shot in the dark for an overnight stay. It turned out to be a gem. The room was large and clean and fully equipped with comfortable beds (crucial for my wife who has a back problem!) The welcome was warm and genuine and we decided to eat our evening meal in the pub. This was an excellent choice especially as the Black Horse is in the Good Beer Guide!
When we stayed again on the return journey we found that the food served was Thai (a themed night). With my wife not fancying Thai food, the licensee went to great lengths to direct us to a competing pub down a maze of winding lanes. That was also excellent. But for warmth, a genuine welcome, comfortable beds and good beer and food this is one we will return to.
