just spent four nights at the Portquin and can thoroughly reccomend it. the whole place is immacculate and we felt more than just guests.

anybody looking for accomodation in Swindon will find nowhere better than this b&b.

what friendly hosts and a truly warm welcome at this lovely guesthouse, in a beautiful setting! Hope we can return many times in the future, in fact, planning a stay there later this month!! The children had a fabulous time and so did we cheers x

Our first visit, having booked about three weeks ago after viewing a selection of accommodation in/around Swindon on the TripAdviser website - used the link straight thru to Late-Rooms to confirm/book, as we thought Portquin looks just ideal for our weekend away visiting friends.
And it was - It is just as Karen and Ian describe on their website and simply couldn't be faulted in any way. An added bonus we learned is that we will hopefully be able to take along our dog when we return as they have an annex adjoining the room we stayed in & are happy for accompanying pets in this room if this is pre-arranged when booking.

We turned up at Portquin on spec after our travel plans changed unexpectedly and left us in limbo for a night. Fate smiled on us! For £15 less than the almost-full Premier Inn up the road, we enjoyed a spacious and spotless ensuite room, a very comfortable bed, a generous tea and coffee tray, not to mention free wifi and a fantastic breakfast that would have been a significant amount extra at the PI, plus warm hospitality from Karen and Ian. Everything that a traditional B&B should be, and we were very happy to find it.

It was good to see the Fairtrade offerings in the room, with plenty of everything including biscuits! A separate bin for anything recyclable was also a nice 'green' touch.

We will certainly be back next time we visit friends in the area, and will recommend it to others too.
