“First Class, Very Friendly and Elegant Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 September 2010

I travelled with two friends for a two night stay at The Morgan. What a place! Very chic, and not the norm for the kind of hotel usually associated with the Temple Bar area of Dublin. We all had separate rooms, all a 'Standard' classification. But they were anything other than 'Standard'. Spacious, beautiful decor and massive bath as well as shower, you could listen to a selection of music or tv whilst taking a relaxing bath.

We all had rooms at the rear of the hotel so as to guard against the sometimes rather rowdy revellers around Temple Bar. None of us heard a thing!

The bar at The Morgan is very elegant. The Friday night entertainment with a dj playing rather cool music, was accompanied by a fella on bongo drums. All very classy, entertaining and a nice accompaniment to our night rather than a noisy interruption.

The Guest Relations Manager, a Canadian gentleman named Dave Schneider came over to speak with us on several occasions to see how we were enjoying our stay. The difference with this guy is...he really was interested in how we were enjoying our stay! It wasn't an empty 'must ask' question.

We'll definitely return to The Morgan on our next trip to Dublin. Well worth a visit and I expect hard to beat in terms of value for money and quality of service.

Thanks to all who made our stay so enjoyable.

Scott

“Nice idea, but.......”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 September 2010

The concept of The Morgan is very nice, it has a great location on Fleet Street, it has a trendy bar, it has nice rooms...........

But it has the dirtiest, smelliest, dingiest toilets I have ever been in outside of a building site, they were so bad we gave our friends our room key to use the toilet in the room when they needed to go.

My opinion was not helped by the fire alarm going off the first night we stayed, 45 mins on the street and no fire brigade. When it went off the second night we never even got out of bed - still waiting on anyone checking to see if we were alright or not! And when I complained about two ruined nights sleep at reception I was given a shrug, not even an apology!

“A highly decent hotel in the best location in Dublin”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 September 2010

I spent 4 nights at the hotel for both business and leisure. The hotel is located in the temple bar area in Dublin and is in walking distance from every possible leisure place in Dublin (Trinity College, Castle, Christ Church, Guiness, Jameson, Liffy river, etc.) and the shopping streets. The hotel itself in very nicely decorated, the rooms are in good size and the beds are extremely comfortable. The check-in staff was very nice, helpful and efficient and the breakfast was great. Internet is free in the rooms and there is even a free private room with a computer and printer so you can print a bit if you need to. The only minus in this hotel that I could find are - It can get noisy on some nights since it is located on a street filled with bars (can also be a great plus if you're looking to stroll out at night a bit and have some beer and you can close the windows to get the silence back...) and it seems they invested a lot in the rooms and decorations, yet the maintenance could be better and need some improvement, including plaster the is coming down from the walls a bit, etc.

“The Morgan Hotel - Horrendous”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 August 2010

Myself and my husband headed away Saturday night to enjoy our first break in five years away from the kids. The Morgan looked great online so we booked and prepaid for a kings deluxe room. When we arrived they tried to put us into a standard room without informing us..they quickly changed this and upgraded us to a junior suite when I called down. The suite however had not been prepared..the mini bar had not been serviced and there was an empty bottle of beer on the floor. The ceiling's plaster is coming away, the bathroom ceiling is also peeling away and the tiles coming away from the grouting. the bath itself was tiny. The thing that we could not handle was a shower that would not stop dripping and the noise from the bar below. Great if your into dance music but we just wanted to relax and listening to the boom boom noise till 3am and then having to put up with the shower drove me to sleep on the sofa last night. The staff were excellent and the food very good however they just dont make up for the horrendous experience we had. This is a hotel to be endured not enjoyed, and certainly not a four star.
