“90s trendy, bit try hard but right in the thick of it.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012 NEW

We stayed for two nights in a standard room. Whilst I was disappointed there was no bath, the king size bed made up for it. The room was adequate sized but just felt a little unloved. The plaque outside said it had won an award in 1998. And it felt like it hadn't been painted or renovated since. The breakfast is everything you need in terms of fried and continental choice and the quality was ok. Fresh scrambled eggs made to order were great, sausages cheap.
We were on the second floor and whilst we slept with the windows shut, we still heard revellers outside which woke me up, but it was more the guests along our corridor which kept us awake in the night! The sound travels a lot so perhaps request a deserted floor as there didn't seem to be many guests during our stay.
Overall, the hotel is ok. I felt they paid more attention to the bar downstairs which was very busy with those desperate to be seen, fake tanned and hair extensioned up.
We had cocktails which at €10 each were ok but again, nothing outstanding in terms of ingredients, presentation or mixing.
Go, if you like bling and want to be in the heart of temple bar. If you like TOWIE's style, you'll love it!

“Beyond expectations, amazing service!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012 NEW

If you are staying in Dublin then this is the place to be, in the heart of Temple Bar and literally 1-2 minutes walk from all that Dublin has to offer on the main streets, bus tours etc.

We arrived ridiculously early and had nowhere to go in the rain due to stupid ferry times and although we only went to the hotel to ask if we could leave our bags there until check in time we were given our room with as smile so we were able to get a couple of hours sleep before exploring Dublin.

The room was beautifully decorated, clean, extremely comfortable and spacious, the TV had plenty of choice including sky sports and UK channels such as BBC 1, 2 etc. They even left us an apple!

My fiancee sadly has an allergy to feathers and although 3 out of the 4 pillows were hypo allergenic, one contained feathers. This is a problem we ofter encounter when traveling and usually when we request a change we are either ignored or promised a replacement which never comes. Not the case at The Morgan! We were politely told that as soon as housekeeping arrived we would get a replacement which we did, another sign of the great service received, although to be honest the bed was so comfortable and the remaining pillows so fluffy we didn't really need two each!

All restaurant, bar and reception areas of the hotel were immaculately clean and very modern.

We were there for the Wales vs Ireland rugby game and as the hotel was located in Temple Bar we were right in the middle of the atmosphere and the action. The hotel had security on the door when we returned on Saturday night and they were friendly and just asked to see our room key before letting us in, not an inconvenience at all and it made us feel very safe in our hotel. We actually asked the security guys if we were able to take outside food back to our room and again this was greeted with a joke and a smile, taking outside food back to the room was no problem, which is not something that is allowed in many hotels.

It was slightly noisy outside during the night but the hotel can not be held responsible for this, you can't expect to stay in the heart of Temple Bar on a rugby weekend and not hear a bit of an atmosphere!

Breakfast the next morning was generous with plenty of choice, all fresh. Once again the staff couldn't have been more accommodating.

I have stayed in many hotels through work and leisure and I am ashamed to say that I don't review as many as I should but I felt that I had to write something about to The Morgan so as it gets the credit it deserves. In many of these hotels, the staff can say 'hello' or 'have a nice stay' and it all comes across as a bit false, at this hotel that could not be further from the truth. Talking to the members staff was like talking to friends, they seemed genuinely happy to see you and genuinely concerned if there was a slight problem (the pillow).

I am not sure if it is a privately run hotel or part of a chain but whoever is in charge should be very proud of each and every member of staff, they made our trip to Dublin memorable.... that and a Welsh victory in the rugby, sorry had to end on that!!

Room Tip: If you're sensitive to outside noise and you're staying on a busy night then possibly ask for a quiet room, I'm sure their great staff would be more than happy to oblige.

“Fun & Friendly”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012 NEW

I visit Dublin on business regularly, and have stayed at the Morgan around 10 times in the last 2 years. The hotel is well situated within Dublin's Temple Bar. The staff are friendly & accomodating. On my most recent visit (Feb 2012), the reception team remembered my name & provided me with a room with a balcony as they knew that this was my preference. I didnt even need to ask! I was impressed as I hadnt stayed there since March 2011. The rooms are lovely, with amazingly comfortable beds. The bar is modern & lively at the weekend - My kind of place! I would reccomend this hotel for both business & pleasure. I always reccomend the Morgan to friends who are going to Dublin, Im already looking forward to going back the next time im in town.

“A great hotel to party in!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012 NEW

I am a Dubliner and i have drank in the hotel bar for years but decided to actually stay one night recently and i have to say the staff are excellent, very efficient (for example I asked them to call Marco Pierre Whites to book a table at 8 o clock on a Friday night,i got a table for quarter past nine!)it probably wouldnt have happened if i had called up to MPWs in person, way too busy! the bar is excellent, very FUNKY and full of the beautiful people, warning if you aint beautiful, stay away, you will stand out! the room...............hmmmmm well in fairness i was told by a friend there are different size and type rooms,we got a room you couldnt swing a cat in but still very nice and very very white but thats the luck of the draw.the mini bar is a moot point as there is a TESCO 10 yards from the hotel, just fill up there before you book in,
the "double" bed is one of those beds that zips down the middle into two single ones so that took a while to zip back up and make double again, annoying but not a huge pain. The hotel is noted for its funky interior but i have to say the bathroom is getting a little worn out,a fresh lick of paint here and there would be nice, this hotel is PARTY PARTY in the bar and on the night i was there the Party continued into the room next door, some very drunk and excited French people in the next room woke me up from a lovely sleep at 4 am,my fault really tho, being asleep in temple bar on a Friday at 4 am! my only gripe about this hotel is the PC in the lobby on the floor ,its wrecked looking, looks like an old pentium II with a panel missing on the front and just looks out of place compared to the rest of the interior, also what looked like candle wax will be noted as you walk into the lobby to your right, where i guess candles burn on the table each night, finally the location is ridiculously perfect, words fail me how handy the location is,close to everything,a pool would be nice but even that is taken care of as CRUNCH fitness has a beautiful pool/sauna/gym etc 5 yards from this hotel, its a few quid for a session but again right beside the hotel entrance.I would give this hotel 3/5 would have been 4 but the room we got was tiny : (
