What a hole! As soon as we walked into the building the smell hit us. I can't even describe what the smell could be, but it was awful. To add to that, there were flies everywhere. The place is dingy, and extremely unclean. We were shown to our room to be welcomed by an even worse smell and a broken window. They had made no attempt to bord up the window, or even remove the shards of glass hanging out of it. Me and my friends have stayed in hostels before and this is by far the worse one we have ever seen. It was so bad we moved to Isaacs Hostel, which, for just a couple of euros more, is absolutely brilliant. The Shining is unhygenic, disgusting and with extremely rude staff. A health hazard!

Was pretty cheap, I think 15 euro for the night but it wasn't worth it. We slept in a dorm room and the beds weren't in great shape. We woke up in the morning with a horrible smell in the room. We were 5 minutes late checking out and they made us pay extra. On the up side they did give us free Yop

We booked 2 months b4 we had came to dublin we also aranged pick up from airport but when we got to dublin airport at 11pm no one was there, we called the hostel who claim they knew nothing so we all had to catch a bus and find our own way there. When we got to the hostel there was a nasty small like gone off chip fat , we had booked a room with an ensuite but were not given the room .As we got to the room their were urine stains on all the beds along with the sheets on one of the beds there was sick all over the bed along with dead flys!!! the bathrooms were dirty we could not close the windows which had water bottles keeping them up as they were cracked . we reported All this to the manger ALAN who wanted us all to pay 15 euros each !! we would have been better sleeping on the road with the tramps!!! we refused to pay and gave him 5 euros each. I wouldnt want my dog to stay here it was a living hell from when we entered the place FOR YOUR OWN GOOD STAY AWAY!!! ITS A DIRTY DIRTY SMELLY PLACE WITH URINE AND GOD KNOWS WHAT ON THE SHEETS AND BED!!!!

So for 10 euros a night, this place was exactly worth that. You're placed in a mixed room with a bunch of other beds and no storage space. The women's bath wasn't even on my floor. From 11-2 they clean so you have to be out of the hostel. The location is near the train station though, so that was a plus, and not too far from a tram stop either. So it is what you pay for. Definitely not the best, but not the worst either. There is free Wifi and a kitchen for all to use.
