We stayed at Ballinderg House for two nights in September and we had a very pleasant stay.
The house is in a central location. It took us less than ten minutes to walk to the centre of the town. The Old Abbey and the Donegal Bay Waterbus are just around the corner. The garden backs on to the river.
Our room was great. It was quite spacious and beautifully furnished and decorated. It was spotlessly clean and there were many nice details that added a touch of luxury. The bed was large and extremely comfortable and there was an electric blanket. We had lace trimmed towels and bedsheets. The bathroom was very nice. We loved the antique look of the tiles.
We had a room at the front of the house. There was no noise from the street but we had hoped for a view over the river so the view over the street was a bit disappointing. There is a guest lounge upstairs where you can have tea or coffee that has a view over Donegal Bay.
The breakfast room was beautifully furnished and decorated, too. It is at the back of the house and therefore has a nice view over the river. The muesli, the Irish breakfast and the cheese were very good.
The owner was very friendly and welcoming and very attentive. We stayed at Ballinderg House because we liked the description and the photos on the b&b’s website. We found the house to be exactly like it is described on the website. The photos are very accurate. The only thing that wasn’t quite what we had expected was the view from our room. Next time I’d ask for a room at the back of the house. A view of Donegal Bay would have made our stay even more perfect. We recommend Ballinderg House and would definitely stay there again.
