“'An experience’ rather than just ‘somewhere to stay’”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 July 2011

There was something special about our sojourn in Donegal Manor – it was ‘an experience’ rather than just ‘somewhere to stay’. The moment we stepped over the threshold we got a genuinely warm friendly welcome from Michael & Sian and within a few minutes we found ourselves on very comfortable seating being served with tea and fresh baked scones. Thereafter they did everything possible to make our stay a memorable event

The breakfasts were of high quality and a wide choice was on offer - everything from a fully cooked breakfast to continental style with mix and match to suit every taste and all washed down with copious supplies coffee and tea. Sian's evening meals were carefully planned with interesting sauces and superb fresh vegetables. You must have her rhubarb crumble - it is simply delicious. The room was spacious with a large bed and a well presented bathroom.

For our short two-day break Donegal Manor exceeded all our expectations.

“Ummmmm”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 July 2011

Sian and Michael are wonderful hosts although proximity to the main road was noisy even with the window closed (loose handles). The grounds and rooms are beginning to look tired. Breakfast delicious and the porter cake was an unexpected treat. Excellent wifi and it's free.

“A Very Enjoyable Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 July 2011

My wife and I stayed here at the start of our holiday and tour of the West of Ireland. Having read the reviews on Trip Advisor we were not disappointed with this Guesthouse.

We received a typical Donegal warm welcome with every assistance to check-in, not forgetting a refreshing cuppa after our long drive. Our room was just fantastic. There was a king-size double bed which was ultra comfortable. The Guesthouse had all the usual modern conveniences and a very large free car-park.

The breakfast menu was large with lots to chose from. We both had the typical "Ulster Fry" with a good sized pot of tea with homemade bread.

The dinner menu was equally very good with my favourite on the desert menu - Sticky Toffee Pudding. It was great. The Chef, if I may say so is a real treasure and turns out food which is as good as any 5* Hotel or Restaurant.

The family who own and run the Guesthouse were helpful to the extreme with local knowledge on where to visit and where to dine.

We are already planning another stay as our time in Donegal was all too short.

“Lovely dinner”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 June 2011

A wee bit worried about the proximity of the main road when we arrived, but this proved to be OK - no noise in our room. Thanks to Sian and Michael for a lovely dinner on our second night, and great breakfasts!
We walked into town and got a taxi back, due to a lengthy spell in the Reel Inn after a lovely meal - and fantastic in-house beer - at the Old Castle.
All in all, very happy with this stay.

“What a lovely place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 June 2011

After having a nightmare journey, we arrived at Donegal Manor to be greeted with a well needed cup of tea and cake. The staff were so friendly and welcoming and immediately made us feel like we could now just relax and enjoy our break. The hotel it's self was clean, homely and had a wonderful atmosphere. Our room was truly lovely, with the biggest bed ever!! Not only was the bed huge, but it was so comfortable too.

I would stay at Donegal Manor again anytime. A huge thank you to everyone who made our stay so lovely.
