Wonderful place with wonderful service.Big rooms,very good homemade breakfast.

We arrived very late (12 hours) owing to severe technical problems on MV Finlaggan.

Well after midnight a kind note had been left for us and a wee dram to welcome us.

I diivde hotels into generous and mean and this one is extra generous. Everything is of the highest standard and in good taste and all the little touches show how dedicated to service the owner, Fiona, is.

The views of the loch, rooms and bathrooms all have wow factor in buckets and are good value for money.

If you're going to Islay and can afford it, don't hesitate to book here. It's fabulous!!!

Here I am using Tripadvisor to check out my 2011 holiday , and just thought I had to let everyone know what a great place I found on Islay on my holidays last September ...Loch Gorm House .
Comfort abounds , with relaxation aplenty . The most fabulous room , with the most luxurious bathroom in Britain ! Add to that the perfect host (Fiona ) and you have the perfect place ....Loch Gorm House .By the way, Islay is sensational too !

Okay whats not to like about the location...if the weather is kind but you get what you expect in that part of scotland.

I had heard about this little gem in an idyllic corner of Scotland and travelled there with a loved one with a view to a discrete, top quality location for a proper getaway honeymoon.

Travelling by car was for me, an avid driver, a joy and a revelation on some of the best roads to be found outside of Mull.

We arrived fashionably late to be greeted by the most infectiously engaging hostess anyone could ask for. Clearly nothing was too much trouble to Fiona who was discrete when not required and available and immensely informative when we asked numerous questions.

Various options for dining were explored, discussed and ultimately dscounted as we opted for the Lobster prepared by her own fair hand. The entire dinner was a massive success and Fionas culinary skills were to be enjoyed several more times before we departed with a view to returning not so much as guests but old friends.

Its so refreshing to deal with an owner-hostess-chef who is so in control of all aspects of the experience which was to the highest standard throughout.

I read previous views with an air of scepticism and i have to say that everyone is entitled to their opinion; on this showing Fiona is nothing short of the supreme hostess and is a living being with a genuinely engaging personality and i will return again and again to Loch Gorm.
