This review is long overdue! So here it is :) My husband and I booked and stayed two lovely nights at a B&B on the Isle of Iona called Dalantober. Unfortunately they do not have a website of their own, but our correspondences with Joyce McIntyre through e-mail were nothing short of a great, hospitable host :) The small B&B was just 5 minutes' walk away from the pier (and about 10-15 minutes' walk to the Abbey), but Joyce came anyway to pick us up in her taxi, free of charge!
We paid £25 each per night for the cozy room, which included a yummy traditional Scottish breakfast :) Besides coffee and tea, our room came with a cute egg-shaped mini fridge! A small bottle of milk inside the fridge was replenished daily. The queen-size bed was comfy :) The bathroom/toilet was a little small, but we didn't mind really. The room was also equipped with a wardrobe and cable TV! So much for traveling to the ends of the earth ... well, almost! Haha!! Just outside of our room was a cozy lounge for napping, reading, writing postcards or just enjoying the great view.
Joyce served us hearty breakfasts there. We were greeted with cow bells and happy moos as we stuffed ourselves with cups of creamy fruit yogurt, just-nice toasts with butter, orange marmalade and amazing raspberry jam, delightful sunny-side-ups, baked beans, fat sausages, sinful bacon strips, sauteed mushrooms, healthy tomatoes, an interesting triangular slice of pancake/dough (does anyone know what this is??), freshly brewed coffee and tea, and fruit juices!!! Our bellies overfloweth ;D The sea view from our breakfast table (especially when the sun came out to frolic with the cows!) was just breath-taking!!
We truly loved and savored every moment of our too-short-stay at Dalantober!
