“Luxury accomodation with breathtaking views”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 September 2010

The negative reviews are disappointing to read and not particularly helpful. If you wish to use the Hot Tub (which I fully recommed) then you are required to pay the additonal running costs which seemed a fair way to ensure all guests pay for what they use. The views are magnificent as was the quality of the lodges and the surrounfing area.

Hello Nicola. Thank you for your review, I have also sent a private message request to you in the hope that I can help with the points you have mentioned on here. But if your not comfortable with that I hope I can help with this responce. Damages are only taken from group bookings and this is mentioned in out terms that will have been on your email confirmation. We do charge for gas and electric but this is charged at cost price to all our guests, did you perhaps have 2 lodges booked? again this is mentioned in the terms.
The lodges all have toilet rolls etc in them however they are "self catering" and will only have a starter amount ie each toilet will be stocked and starter tea & coffee packs will be left etc. We do offer to Tesco service to guests so that they can have a delivery to the lodge to save going to a supermarket en-route. If you have booked for 8 guests you lodge will have linen for 8 and if for some reason this was not the case you should of alerted our duty manager who would of made sure extra was provided. Indeed our duty manager will have seen to any issues you had, but I have spoke with her and it seems we have no record of any recent complaints of your nature? We try hard at Lodges On Loch Ness to ensure all our guests are happy with our service and can only improve with direct feed back. I hope we can speak soon so that I can fully answer any points you wish to discuss. Kind Regards.

“A most relaxing break in a wonderful location, looking forward to our next visit.”

The lodge we stayed in was just perfect. It was situated above the loch so the views are spectacular both up and down the loch. The lodge was ready for us when we arrived, with meter readings already taken and the hot tub at the perfect temperature. The interior was very clean , comfortable and spacious. The kitchen was well appointed with quality appliances. The bedrooms were very nice with more than sufficient hanging and drawer space and lovely en-suite facilities. The upper living area was superb ,with views over the loch no matter which sofa/armchair you chose.Management were non -obtrusive but were on hand if req'd ,checked hot tub daily and took meter readings before we left. I would have no hesitations in recommending these lodges.

“watch out for the hidden extras”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 June 2010

Had a lovely few days in one of the lodges for a special occassion with family. Must admit we all enjoyed our time together, however, for what we got it wasn't worth the money. Clean and comfortable but could do with some minor repairs within the property.
Be aware of the utility bills, which is not too obvious on the website but is soon brought to your attention on arrival in the form of written literature lying in the cabin. It has left a bad taste! Being sent a very expensive utility bill two months after a 3 night break is poor management. To be honest I think it is a bit cheeky to ask for £5 for putting the tesco shopping away when I know this was done by the delivery man ( I spoke to him on the day of the delivery).
If I had been aware how much the 'extras' were going to be I would not have booked, I only hope that by reading this others will be more aware before booking.

“Fantastic view, lovely cabins appalling service”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 October 2009

After seeing the lodges on the web we were really excited about this leg of our trip. Correspondence by INTERNET provoked the feeling that the accommodation was run by people who cared. I guess that was true until payment had been made.

Upon arrival in Inverness I phoned for directions - the conversation was abrupt to the point of being rude. We eventually drove the 12 miles to Foyers are located the lodge. No one was there to meet us.

The cabins themselves are very nice with a spectacular view though some distance from the Loch itself - don't be tricked by the photographs on the website.

There was no one to take a meter reading nor no details of the readings to be found anywhere. The final bill, charged after we left, with no supporting documents or even a courtesy email was a bit of a 'surprise'. This type of service is shoddy at best and not what you expect for 1200 per week accommodation.

Everything in the cottage appears to be 'for sale' with emphasis on the very over priced pottery items. Most things worked but there was little in the way of instructions on how to control the heating or other utilities.

The view and location are great the cabins are nice --- the service was abysmal

“Expensive”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2008

When I saw the website for these Lodges I thought 'WOW' they look great, a bit on the expensive side but I went ahead and booked for a week. On arrival there was no welcome and I had to phone a number for a key code to get our key from outside the front door. On first inspection the lodge looked really nice, nicely furnished and with all mod cons. The hot tub was nice and I loved the bathrooms. The location was good quiet near to so great walks and the waterfalls at Foyers. The bad points are, the TV's are hit and miss that they receive a digital signal, the TV upstairs in the main bedroom did not work for our intire stay, only one side of the cooker rings worked, no working batteries in the TV remote and the torch they left us and the bin in the bathroom was not even emptied on our arrival from the last people staying. The hot tub was nice but no privacy from other lodges. Overall a nice lodge, but attention to detail could of made it a better stay and it was very expensive and that does not include the gas and electricity you use. I must say that they did take delivery of a Tesco delivery for us and put it away (at a cost though) which made it easier for us. The pub at Dores about 8 miles towards Inverness serves great food if you want to eat out.
