“Amazing lodges with stunning views of the Loch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2012

We had booked a lodge for 4 nights over the new year and I have to say it was the best experience ever. Although we didnt see the owner when we arrived we managed to have short friendly chats the following days when we saw them.

When we first got into the lodge it was stunning, well decorated and very clean, there was even an xmas tree put up for the festive period (a nice touch). There were 2 bedrooms both with en suites and the size of the downstairs bathroom was unbelieveable. There is also a log effect gas fire which is nice and heats up the lodge very quickly, particularly makes the mezzanine seating area toasty!

The views from the lodges I believe are the best on this side of the loch, absolutely amazing. The hot tub outside was definately the best part of the stay, not even the rain or snow stopped us from jumping in. The area also offers some nice walks around foyers, there is the waterfalls at foyers which is nice to view and a good walk to take in the views.
The waterfall cafe a few minutes walk away from the lodges was also a nice place to relax after our walks with nice friendly staff and quick service.

The only gripe I would have is the charge for gas and electricity which we didnt realise before we got there. In all fairness we understood the charging for it and the rate they set is reasonable, it all falls down to whether you leave everything on all the time or not.

Overall I would say it is definately worth the money, friendly staff, friendly community and stunning views... unfortunately we did not see Nessie this time.

“Outstanding accomodation in breathtaking surroudings”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 September 2011

After a walking holiday in the highlands we booked this weekend in the quiet corner over loch ness in Foyers. I can not tell you how beautiful the location is -quite simply the best location I have been in my 52 years.
The welcome was exactly what I was looking for - polite susinct and just what I needed. the lodges are simply gorgeous - the hot tubs on the decking over look one of the best views of the loch you could hope for. Steam rooms and jacuzzis are in the lodge with showers that would blow your skin off!
Every appliance is top end and the furniture is ellegant and top notch. Clearly a lot of money was invested - when I come back I hope they upgrade the tellys that are in all the bedrooms to flat screen.
It was made clear to me that utilities are extra and that is exactly what I would expect - especailly when hot tubs and steam rooms must take lots to heat - I think some of the reviewers should be more green in their outlook.
thank you Calum and kate for your warm welcome - you trully have a gem we will see you again soon we hope

Room Tip: vist the Falls at foyers and take with you dish washer tablets -coffee etc and order your consumabl...

“Amazing Cabins, Perfect for the Family”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 August 2011

We stayed in one of the cabins for four nights and loved everything about the location. The cabins are beautiful with three bedrooms, two large full bathrooms and one half bath. There are two living rooms, one up stairs and one on the main floor and a well appointed kitchen-diner area which easily allowed all of the family to spread out for meals at the table. The included coffee maker was well used as we enjoyed a cup of java whilst looking out at the loch in the mornings.

We had concerns about reserving a cabin due to some poor reviews but after calling and speaking to the managers we were very comfortable our holiday would be a great time. The managers were extremely helpful and friendly and answered all of our questions and explained the policy of how the utilities are charged based on meter readings. After reserving the cabin we were given instructions as to where to pick up the keys. When we entered the cabin we found meter reading for the electricity and gas which we verfied to be accurate. The rates for utilities are consistent with what we pay at home.

The views from the cabin were spectacular with a panoramic view of Loch Ness for several miles in each direction. We didn't see Nessie but did give it our best shot in the evenings watching the sun set over the hills. There were decks on the first and second floors with a hot tub on the lower deck. The hot tub was serviced each day by the managers. The furniture in the cabin was of very good quality. There are three TVs, two with DVD players. The showers were amazing with the option to use multiple shower heads one time. There was a large two person jetted bath in the master en-suite and a steam room in the main bath.

While staying at the resort we hired horses from a local stable across the loch and went for a treck in the hills along some lovely quiet trails. We also drove to Fort William and rode the Jacobite Train which was used in the Harry Potter movies. There is a Tesco in Inverness and a few small shops in Fort Agustus both are about a 15-20 minute drive.

I would definately stay here again.

Room Tip: All of the cabins are private but the ones higher up have little better view of the Loch.

“Spoiled by hidden extras”

Lovely lodges, spectacular views.spoiled by money being taken from account unknowingly as a deposit to cover damages. This should be included in the initial costs and detailed on the website. Secondly as per other reviews £50 taken for utilities bills which was not detailed by management on the website or in any booking correspondence. The lodges are 20 miles from supermarkets in Inverness but were poorly stocked with essentials like toilet roll, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets or even surface cloths.if we had known this in advance we would have been able to stock up.in addition not enough towels provided for 8 people. On a plus the views are spectacular, lodges are lovely, very spacious and comfortable. Hot tubs overlooking loch ness make the weekend. I definately would go back to the lodges but I think management need to be a bit more considerate.

Hello Nicola. Thank you for your review, I have also sent a private message request to you in the hope that I can help with the points you have mentioned on here. But if your not comfortable with that I hope I can help with this responce. Damages are only taken from group bookings and this is mentioned in out terms that will have been on your email confirmation. We do charge for gas and electric but this is charged at cost price to all our guests, did you perhaps have 2 lodges booked? again this is mentioned in the terms.
The lodges all have toilet rolls etc in them however they are "self catering" and will only have a starter amount ie each toilet will be stocked and starter tea & coffee packs will be left etc. We do offer to Tesco service to guests so that they can have a delivery to the lodge to save going to a supermarket en-route. If you have booked for 8 guests you lodge will have linen for 8 and if for some reason this was not the case you should of alerted our duty manager who would of made sure extra was provided. Indeed our duty manager will have seen to any issues you had, but I have spoke with her and it seems we have no record of any recent complaints of your nature? We try hard at Lodges On Loch Ness to ensure all our guests are happy with our service and can only improve with direct feed back. I hope we can speak soon so that I can fully answer any points you wish to discuss. Kind Regards

“Luxury accomodation with breathtaking views”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 September 2010

The negative reviews are disappointing to read and not particularly helpful. If you wish to use the Hot Tub (which I fully recommed) then you are required to pay the additonal running costs which seemed a fair way to ensure all guests pay for what they use. The views are magnificent as was the quality of the lodges and the surrounfing area.
