I should start by saying that the Lochardil House is roughly a 1 & 1/2 mile walk from the centre of Inverness. With the work that I was undertaking, depending on the time of day, I either used a taxi or walked, as the weather was exceptionally sunny and warm in the daytime!

The hotel itself is set in mature grounds in a leafy suburb (leafy to the extent that I encountered some deer crossing the road - so not at all 'built-up', as you might say!). The house is definitely a building with character and some history - and the rooms in the house itself (this is a more modern, detached annex) actually still use keys for their doors, which is a nice touch in this day and age. Inside, the room was spacious, as was the bathroom - with a sizeable corner bath and shower. Hotel service was efficient and accommodating - breakfasts were good also, and much enjoyed.

In conclusion - a really good choice if you're staying in Inverness, provided you don't mind being somewhat out of the town!

Booked through late rooms.com and had the best time. Beautifully appointed hotel where the guests every comfort has been considered. Excellent spacious room, very comfortable bed - important to us as my husband is recovering from two slipped disks. Everything we needed was provided, staff were friendly and helpful, food and wine perfect. Hotel definitely merits a longer stay (we only had one night).

The hotel itself is very nice, located in an old manor house. We stayed in the newer building and the room and bathroom were both clean and comfortable. The restaurant was wonderful and we enjoyed a very nice dinner. Our son stayed in the room during dinner and the restaurant staff provided him with a kid-friendly meal that was not on the menu. The only negative is that the hotel was very difficult to find, located right in the middle of a older affluent residential area - which makes sense given that it is an old manor home.

We stayed in the garden rooms very good spotlessly clean and very comfortable the French doors went out to the beautifull gardens which we liked
On arrival we were made to feel welcome our bags were taken to our room
Tea and coffee facilities in room with packets of biscs which was a nice touch
We booked an evening meal which was very good and service was excellent
The staff were very informative of the area when we asked about how to get to town.
We will definitly use this hotel again,
