“Last minute, first class”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

One of the friendliest receptionists I have ever come across. Some of the bigger and more upmarket hotel staff and other customer service staff in other industries in Glasgow could learn a lot from the young man on check in. The room was clean, and quiet though a little too cold for my liking (10 degrees) when I first arrived. Once I figured out the climate control the room was cosy in no time. Didn't use any of the other facilities or have breakfast though the price and look of breakfast was very appealing and if I stayed in future I would definitely have B&B. Great location as it is walking distance to merchant city over the bridge from the Gorbals and it has the added bonus of a car park. Great.

“Friendly staff make this hotel special”

We were here to go to a concert at the SECC and to be honest you would not come to this hotel for it's pretty location- the location has no real charm BUT. It is central and the staff are great. Very friendly and doing everything they can to ensure you have a nice time in Glasgow. Lots of local knowledge can go a long way. Its a Premier Inn so the furnishings and food as as the chain dictates so at a dependable standard. What makes this Premier Inn stand out are the friendly team who's job it is to look after you while you are with them. Not that cheap but for a city centre ish location more affordable than most

“Hats off to the staff”

Great hotel with really helpful staff that can`t do enough for you. The all you can eat breakfast is also worth a mention from a fat bloke like me lol. The hotel is close enough to the city centre without being right in the middle of the hustle bustle. It`s a 5 minute walk to the nearest subway(Bridge St) and maybe 10 minutes from Central Station on foot. We were more than happy with every aspect of the hotel. Everything was bang on from the staff, rooms, meals etc. No complaints at all and special mention to the staff for letting us check in early rather than having us leave our bag at reception.

“Always our first choice in Glasgow”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

Stayed at the Premier Inn South on many occasions, all of which have been excellent, can't complain at all. Good location, free large car park, very friendly staff, spacious rooms. A few reviewers have mentioned that it's not in a very good area. I guess, at first glance, you may feel that way, however we (married couple, 40s/50s) have walked to and from the hotel at all hours of the day and night and never once had any problem. This hotel is always our first choice when staying in Glasgow, primarily because it's no hassle to park the car and we don't have far too walk into town. Even better if you can get a cheap £29 room!

Room Tip: We usually ask for a room away from the lift so you don't hear guests coming and going, however...

“Really impressed with this Premier Inn this time - thank you”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 January 2012

I booked to stay in this Premier Inn on the back of a really good experience at the Premier Inn at Edinburgh airport recently. I was initially a bit wary because of a very bad experience we had here a couple of years ago but my fears were totally unfounded and I must say I was very impressed with everything this time.
The Reception staff were friendly, concerned and attentive and always took the time to speak. I was origonally only there for 2 nights but because of a change of plan, had to extend my stay to 5 nights. It was lovely coming back here every evening. The room was huge, the beds really comfortable and I slept better than I have in ages. Our room faced the main street but I heard no noise at all.
The bathroom was bright, shiny and clean and the shower was powerful and reviving. Lovely.
We ate only once in the restaurant and the meal was prefectly good - although they had run out of a few things that night.
The location is fab if you have a car - you do not pay for parking (a rarity in Glasgow) and the hotel is on a major route. The car park is spacious and safe.
It is really handy for Glasgow Royal Infirmary (we needed to be near here) and is a short 10 minute walk to the city centre. The surrounding area is probabaly not the most genteel but it's not the worst either. I never felt afraid walking about like some reviewers have posted.
We usually stay in the more expensive hotels when we come to Glasgow but I was fed up with paying their exhorbitant parking fees and decided to give the Premier Inn another go to see if it had got any better - and I am so pleased I did.
This hotel is not fancy or pretentious but you get really good value for money and you will be very comfortable. Unlike a lot of the other (more expensive) places I've stayed in in Glasgow, you really feel as though they actually want you there and want to make your stay as pleasant as possible.
Well done Premier Inn City Centre South - a huge turnaround in service and we'll be back.
