Our American relations were here for a short stay in Glasgow. We had a full house, so we put them up at the Blythswood. They raved on about the impressive nature of the hotel and its décor the friendliness of the staff and the quality of the room. The restaurant was to a high international standard and the central location made it an easy choice for them to see a pretty part of Glasgow. We were delighted that they had such a good time and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to any visitor to our City. Well done Blythswood Square.

Room tip: Concierge has very good local knowledge and will make recommendations you can trust

From the moment we walked up the steps to the entrance we were made to feel welcome. The imposing architecture and fine decoration made our stay special, as did the excellent and extensive breakfast. Our room was modern, bright and extremely comfortable with a superb bathroom; the only minor fault was that the flat bottomed basin did not drain fully. We faced onto an internal courtyard, and consequently enjoyed a very quiet night's sleep. Unfortunately we did not have time to visit the spa. All the staff we met managed to combine attentive and courteous service with a genuinely relaxed and friendly manner. The hotel has the atmosphere of a country hotel in a convenient city centre location. A truly memorable experience.

We had an enjoyable spa day, we had a voucher for 50% off the Rhassoul Mud Treatment and three hour Thermal Experience with a glass of Prosecco each for £45 per person it was worth it, float around the spa and the mud treatment for 2 left us with baby soft skin, three of the water jets in the main "pool" area weren't working, no biggie when the spa is quiet. I wouldn't pay more, it isn't worth it to me. We had a nice time, relaxing, great jacuzzi. Staff were fine, nothing to write home about. My husband pressed the emergency button in one of the steam rooms thinking it "did" something not realising it was an emergency button BUT nobody came! Glad neither of us needed medical attention.

Entrance makes a real impression - grand and imposing. Interesting rally memoribilia. Staff were professional but friendly and helpful. Our room was just off the reception but not noisy. It was a larger executive room - worth the extra in my view. The bathroom was enormous with an excellent shower and large claw foot bath. Good quality toiletries too. My partner used the spa and was pleased with the treatments although, due to a mix up, she was much delayed. They made up for it with champagne and free manicure. My favourite part was the bar which is large and stylish with a buzzy atmosphere. Good breakfast in the room if a little cool. The bathroom was baltic in the morning - the one major fault but easily fixed I would think.

Room tip: Executive ones are great value
