Located on Murray Park Road which is lined with B&B's. The Montague was very well decorated and furnished and was exceptionally clean. The room was cozy and had everthing one could need. There was a wide variety of choices for breakfast and the omelette and french toast can be vouched for. Best of all the Montague was a short walk to a number restaurants and shops on Market Street. And St. Andrews is small enough you can walk the Old and New Courses and St. Andrews, the castle, and the Medieval church ruins.

What a great find! The room was big, gorgeous, and, as was the rest of the establishment, impeccably clean. It is always interesting to see how Guest House and B and B operators balance the ideas of personal hospitality and professional service. Andrew and Gillie, the proprietors, have got it just right. Friendly and warm, they responded to our endless questions about area attractions with humor and helpfulness. But the housekeeping and breakfast service was as tip-top as any five-star hotel. There was a very nice public room where one could lounge on a rainy day, with a fridge to hold drinks and leftovers. As Americans, we really appreciated the ice machine. The reason we reference the omelette in our headline is that Andrew, who cooks all the breakfasts to order, is an award-winning chef. There is a wide range of breakfast choices, included a Scottish breakfast. The man can make haggis taste good! We booked the Montague House solely from a website, and we really lucked out. Will we be back? YES!
